I quite liked him climbing through Judi Dench's carriage only to leave her to wonder "Was that it?". Just love her disappointment that he didn't even 'try it on'.

I don't know if this was intentional or not, but I suspect it was given how smart the rest of the movie was. In Kingsmen Eggsy picks a pug as his dog to train. This is played for laughs but pugs are also historically royal dogs, Kings Dogs.

This is hardly a subtle thing, but it is something hardly anyone ever does anymore, but I loved that the fight scenes used as few cuts and as little shakey cam as possible. The fight scene in the church was especially cool and was made to look like two very long uncut shots. It just looks so much better than fight scenes lately that are so zoomed in and constantly shaking with cuts at the moment of impact, they're impossible to follow.

It is a very well done action movie, great shooting as well. Too bad the shots are entirely too boring outside of action/aftermath scenes and the story a bunch of trite schlock.

Its not a movie but it flew over my head this whole time: Cletus Spuckler from the Simpsons is a hillbilly and his last name sounds trashy. Break it down to "spuck", the German word for spit, and you get "'Spit'(t)ler". Of all the characters in the series, he and his family are most likely to expel spittle while conversating with city folk.

On the other side of the scale is the late Trevor Goddard, best known as Kano in the first Mortal Kombat movie, who managed to piss off virtually every male Australian actor and some of the women by stealing their roles with a fake accent and a bio that claimed he was a reformed criminal from Perth. He was actually from Croydon.

There's a scene in The Wire where McNulty shouts "gently caress the chain of command!", where his real accent shines through. Can't seem to find a clip, it's one of the earlier episodes. Speaking of accents, Mads Mikkelsen has a dreadful American/English accent. It seems to work in his favor on Casino Royale and Hannibal, because apparently he sounds somewhat exotic and hard to place. But if you're Danish, it's hoooorrible!

In non-accent news, Auspol just directed me to one from Silence of the Lambs, recently put together by someone on Reddit. Someone like Lecter would likely be on monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOI), which is used to treat various mental health disorders, including what Lecter himself exhibits. Directly from the Wikipedia page on MAOIs. There's no way that passage wasn't written specifically with Dr. Lecter in mind.

Aidan Gillan (Carcetti) is the worst about it though. Idris Elba's accent is probably the hardest to detect because String is really low and mumbly. I agree, but the way it happens also somehow makes him seem slimier and faker, so it really works with the character. Like his accent shifts to try and manipulate whomever he's speaking to. I'm sure it's just him having difficulties with the accent, but it sort of works on a certain level.

Shiiiiiiiit, Littlefinger might be so far ahead of everyone else in the politics/psych game that he's using code-switching to his advantage.
