When it comes to SCP cringeworthiness I didn't think anything would top Max Landis declaring SCP to be one of the greatest collections of fiction this side of the Twilight Zone and that the fact that it wasn't a culutural phenomenon was because dumb normals are too busy reading text messages.

Actually nevermind that game still isn't as bad as that.

I got grim dawn in the sale a couple weeks ago and it is pretty good. What I've played of it hasn't felt early access at all and the presentation is really good. I can't say how it compares to other ARPGs because the only other one I've played on PC is torchlight, which bored me to tears after about an hour, so grim dawn's at least got ~20 hours of sustained interest going for it (and games as easy as these tend to push me away very quickly). I am guessing it will take 40ish hours to reach the end of the existing content unless there's more stuff than the map implies.

But I could see it being very fun to replay because it lets you pick 2 out of 5 classes to put points in at the same time and they all seem fairly different. I went in with no real plan but ended up becoming Grenade Bastard with some kind of beak dog to soak up attention while I throw appalling quantities of various kinds of grenades. No idea how multiplayer is but I know it has options for both instanced loot and free-for-all so it's probably fun with friends.

Borderlands has coop but those are closer to first person Diablo. I can't think of many more. Maybe Bulletstorm if you can somehow get it working but I don't know if they have or even plan to convert it to Steamworks from GFWL.

Never let it be said steam goons are anything but angels. Didn't someone mention they wished Steam takes stuff off your wishlist when you get them? I think it did that with me, I didn't take it off myself. Could have been in a recentish update, I guess.

Haha, there was just a big discussion in BSS about Max Landis being a dick. Dude makes good stuff but even in the cool videos he does he comes across as being incredibly smug and full of himself. He does that thing where he has a small glass of alcohol throughout the entire video but never finishes it.

Closest thing I can think of are the Serious Sam games.

Edit: And they're not FPS but the Sniper Elite: Nazi Zombie Army games.

They literally just announced an actual online PC multiplayer Halo game but it's a f2p game focused on a Russian audience and considering Microsoft's desperate fumbling to try and turn the Windows app store into a Steam competitor it will probably never be on Steam itself.

Game is still being made so up next is a Adventure Mode like in D3 (Hunt Bounties to increase rep with a faction to unlock items/quests) along with the second half of Act 3 coming out around June. After they are adding Devontions to further character customization.

quote:

How Devoted are you?
Yup, we finally spilled. Devotion really exists. After months of teasers and hints, we are ready to talk about the final layer of Grim Dawn’s character customization.

While the system is still being actively developed by our programmers, the core design is in place. Devotion will feature a brand new UI filled with constellations depicting various Grim Dawn deities and symbols. To unlock these constellations, you will need to travel throughout Cairn and restore shrines dedicated to these celestial symbols. Sometimes, a shrine will require repair using various rare materials. Other times, you will have to cleanse a shrine of corruption by defeating whatever dark spawn inhabits it.

Whenever you claim a shrine, you will earn a Devotion point, which you can then spend in the Devotion Window. This earns you additional attributes and bonuses. However, some constellations feature what we are calling secondary skills. These skills are not applied to your skill bar in the usual sense. Instead, you will apply them to your mastery skills and they will trigger additional effects whenever you use the assigned skill.

As an example, imagine that whenever you trigger Cadence, you will also have a chance to auto-cast a meteor to fall upon your enemies. Or whenever you block with Overguard active you will also gain a short buff that increases your damage. We are working on all sorts of awesome secondary effects, but how you use them will be entirely up to you.

We are eager to share more about this exciting feature, but first we have to finish it! You can look forward to Devotion this summer.

You can play the story mode of Half-Life 1, its expansions, Half-Life 2, and its episodes Co op online. There are mods called Sven Co op and Synergy which work very well once set up. Half-Life Decay on PC takes a bit more fidling to set up until they update Sven Co op for it.

Sniper Elite and its sequels are good multiplayer co op mans shooters. The zombie versions are also fun. Killing Hitler is DLC.

You know John Landis, the guy who directed some classic 80s comedies and then had his carrier die as swiftly as the actors he decapitated with a helicopter on the set of the Twilight Zone movie?

He has a son named Max who somehow has a career as a Hollywood idea guy despite being insufferable and only having some youtube videos about comic books, an SCP article, and a co-writing credit for Chronicle to his name.

Net contents 12 fluid oz.
Hand of Fate is hard to describe, but is a very fun roguelike with batman-arkham-style combat in an RPG setting with a lot of random elements to it ala FTL and persistent unlocks in the form of cards for your equipment and encounter decks.

You traverse 'dungeons' made up of cards laid out on the table by a gamemaster. Each card/tile is either a predetermined encounter (example: rock-fall, or stairs to next level, or boss of the dungeon) or a random one pulled from the encounter deck you built for that 'dungeon'.

If you end up in combat it's fantasy flavored arkham-style combat. Dodge, stun, counter, attack. It starts out easy but as you progress enemies get harder, more tricks (ranged attacks), various boosts to their strength to match your growing power.

Equipment (from your equipment deck) is gained from defeating encounters, combat or non combat. You have food and gold to manage, each tile movement costs 1 food and you can lose/gain it in other various ways.
