I guess I'm in the minority. It had funny bits and all but overall it just kinda felt lackluster. Almost a called in finale.

Mac's mother giving a flying gently caress about the cult just seemed out of character.

She changed a lot since Mrs. Kelly moved in with her, she also cares about Mac snooping around his dad's case and didn't want Bonny to tell about her sexcapdes to Charlie, I actually think it's nice touch that they had those two actually bond and get Mac's mom to give a little poo poo every once in a while.

You know what it was? This episode felt like a typical sitcom. By Always Sunny standards I give it a 5/10 at best. A complete miss.

As for Mac's mom, I get what you're saying, but she just didn't seem like herself this episode. In fact, all the characters were kind of "off." Like I said, it just felt called in. I'm really surprised I'm in the minority on this, but it happens. :)

Has there been any reference at all to Dee and Charlie hooking up?

Shadow
Jun 25, 2002
If there's a reference to that before something like the last 2-3 episodes of next season, if not the season after, I'd be surprised. They usually let a good amount of time go by before they reference something like that. Especially with how awkward Charlie and Dee were after it happened. If it comes up, it'll be when Charlie and Dee are on opposite sides of some major argument/game/thing and one of them blurts it out as an insult and then Dennis or Mac do a "Wait. What?"

Based on how awkward they were the next day in the bar? They already made out and stopped themselves once. You don't get that kinda shame from continuing to make out for a bit more. That comes post-coitus when your brain gets some blood flowing to it again.

Then you realize what you've done.

I can't believe that so many of you didn't like Psycho Pete. Considering how early Mac's Catholicism, Rickety Cricket being a priest, and the Glory Hole were introduced in the series, I thought that the confessional scene in the bathroom was a huge payoff.

A little late to this, but I thought that was one of the weakest episodes of the show I've seen (of any season), which is a shame because this season has otherwise been pretty solid. I don't think I even cracked a smile once at the finale.

I'm not saying I didn't find pieces of it funny. I'm saying that it felt off. It felt hallow. Called in.

It wasn't up to the quality of this season or any other. It was likely in the bottom 5 episodes of the entire series.

Eh. I always tend to enjoy Always Sunny episodes more the second or third time I watch them so I'm sure I'll love it more when it shows up on Netflix and I binge it.

I know I enjoyed most of the season and it never once felt like a show I "had" to watch. There were a number of already memorable episodes and events and jokes that will probably be brought back up down the line. It worked for me.

Yeah, Dennis has been my favorite character for most of the show and I've loved watching him this season.

Also amazed at how many people think it started this season just because last season's premiere wasn't called The Gang Broke Dennis.

I recall hearing something about how he was always frustrated when a show starts with quirky, poor or otherwise "odd" people and as their shows become more popular, they start dressing better, getting nicer haircuts, becoming "cool" etc and he wanted to go the opposite and have Mac completely fall apart physically. Didn't he want the ENTIRE cast to get fat, too? That would have been pretty hilarious.
