Test drove one with a stick and it was one of the slowest pieces of poo poo I've ever driven. It was slower than the Prizm I rolled up to the dealer with, nice interior/lots of space was about the only redeeming factor. I had never experienced throwing a car in 2nd at the middle of the rev range, nailing it and feeling like it was somehow in 5th gear, just absolutely gutless. Honda, Bring back the civic hatch or throw a k20 in the fit and it would be great.

Dear diary, I got another erection today at work. SO embarrassing, but kinda hot. The CO asked me to fix up his dress uniform. I had stayed late at work to move his badges 1/8" to the left and pointed it out this morning. 1SG spanked me while the CO watched, once they caught it. Tomorrow I get to start all over again...
Fit was the best economy car I ever owned. My 2010 easily got 40 mpg cruising at 70 and I could fit more, larger stuff than the focus. It didn't have a terrible goofy stereo set up like my FoST. And its backseats were better than the FoST. That said, they are completely different cars. If you're looking for a $14k economy car, you can expect it to be not fast and also not hot.

I'm honestly considering getting another as a daily driver.

"The net result of all this is a dramatic 1.1-second drop in zero-to-60-mph acceleration for the automatic (from 10.2 to 9.1 seconds), and a quarter-mile time that's 0.8 second and 9.1 mph quicker, tripping the lights in 16.8 seconds at 85.8 mph. The manual manages to shave 0.3 second off both the 60-mph and quarter-mile times, and 3.1 mph off the quarter-mile trap speed, reaching the mile-a-minute mark in 7.9 seconds and the quarter in 16 flat at 86.4 mph. Those times are quite competitive amongst the Fit's B-car competition, with the manual edging out a Chevy Sonic 1.4 turbo by 0.2 second to 60 mph, and the CVT edging out the Ford Fiesta, Toyota Yaris, and Nissan Versa Note automatics by 0.4, 1.2, and 1.3 seconds respectively."

I have my first complaint with my '14 FiST. On my drive to work this morning, the AC turned on to full blast by itself several times. I thought I was going crazy and kept hitting the AUTO button somehow, but then I watched it do it again right before I turned the car off. I did some googling and found one other person with the same issue, but it doesn't seem to be a widespread issue. It's only happened today, so I'll give it a few more days to see if it fixes itself before calling Ford.

Mine does this too, but it's usually the heater on at full blast. Seems to happen most often to me when making left turns over a bumpy road. Annoying but no big deal.

Things like this would drive me up the loving wall. My father in law dealt with a 'suddenly heater full blast' in his 2013 Chevy Truck. And we're in south Florida.

After a week of driving entry-level luxury sport sedans I've come back down to earth and decided the FoST does everything I want at a much more reasonable price so I'm going to order one on Monday. Having said that, I will really, really miss the interior, engine note and 14 speaker Stereo in that Genesis Sedan. That thing was amazing.

So I'm factory ordering and looking at colour options and I find myself weirdly drawn to the ST striping. Too boy racer for a soon-to-be 40 year old man? I'm considering White w/ Red striping or Magnetic w/ Black striping.

If you haven't ordered yet, I drove by the Kanata Ford dealership and they still have two 2014s with the ford racing (borla) exhaust, one in red and one in white. Might be worth the trip depending on what you can save.

Not hardly. I consider a mid-life crisis vehicle something wildy irresponsible and usually overpriced. For instance, the 50 year old at my work who spent $50k on a 370z. The ST's don't have any problem being DD's and have plenty of functionality.

That's about 40 hours on the road round trip :/

Still might be worth it if they are discounted hard.

I"m 99% sure it ISN'T the nismo. Its a convertible with evidently every option. Along with it comes the biggest stories of 'walking' SS's and GT's.

Actually, considering this, I have never seen an invoice or anything so he very well could have paid 1/2 of what he claims. But this is the same guy that loves to gloat about how much each bottle of the craft beer he drinks cost. I have no doubt I could sell him a bottle of water for $25 if he believed it was trendy enough

Well, I just got back from testing out a FiST. It was sold over the phone literally while I was test driving it. Impressions: The gas pedal is god-awful deep compared to the brake. The shifter also feels really high and forward. The boost torque is nice, but runs out fast. It rolls the sidewalls with even moderate lane-to-lane input. And the steering wheel is SOFT, like gripping a pillow tightly.

Now to test out a WRX tomorrow and see if it feels like 7K more car.

Almost certainly not. I was really impressed with the quality of the feel of the interior, given that it's a 21K-ish car. And comparing it with the last time I sat in a Ford interior, a 2010-ish Focus? Amazing improvement. Plus, you know, Subaru interior.

The sunken gas pedal in the fiesta is a common gripe and I too feel the shifter is in an awkward place, but I got used to it quickly. I might get the pedal spacer kit for the gas pedal.

I was talking with the salesman about how I would be tracking it, likely modifying it, and when I went to heel-toe downshift as we slowed to turn onto the slip ramp up to the highway, I caught nothing but air. I did notice that the throttle "hangs", for lack of a better term, between shifts. At first I thought it had a 50 lb flywheel but now I suspect it's some sort of hamfisted attempt to imitate rev-matching.

The FoST has a rev hang feature that can be disabled with a tune. FiST probably does too.

I've heard the rev hanging thing in modern cars is an emissions thing implemented through the dbw, and it's extremely annoying.

Gather round, one and all, and thrill to my turgid tales of underwhelming misadventure!
My brother just picked up a 2015 FiST with whatever package comes with the Recaros. After he has closed on the deal, the dealer went with him to fill the tank up. He said with the shifter in neutral, clutch out, AC off, and on level ground, the engine just stalled/died on him.

Does anyone know about this behavior?

I've heard of people with that issue if they pull the handle out immediately after filling the tank. The manual says to wait 5 to 10 seconds before removing the handle.

^In deed. A FoST seems like a nice mid-way between the FiST and WRX.

e; Is there any place to see how many cars sold in the US per year? I know they had a year jump start, but it seems like way more FoST were sold than FiST. I've never seen another FiST 'in the wild'

Put a Depo intercooler and Turbosmart BOV on the FoST.

The intercooler is awesome, huge, and heat soak is no longer an issue. Will just boost all day long.

The BOV is dumb and serves no purpose with the stock turbo. I just had a gift card and like loud noises.
