it was so good because when you and your friend got burned out on the games you were playing you could trade them to each other and get new stuff. sometimes you had to trade multiple crappy games to get a good one. when i was under 15 my mum never let me play 15+ games but i really wanted gta san andreas and my friend new that so he made me trade him like half a dozen good ps2 games to get his copy. i threw out the dvd extras for school of rock and hid the disk in the school of rock case and played it when my mum was out poo poo was so epic.

You can still do this now OP. You just gotta wait like 12 hours for the game to actually download the game itself.

I don't know. One time I let my friend borrow Ogre Battle and that motherfucker was dodging me for months while I was trying to get it back. I had to go to his house while he wasn't home and tricked his sister into letting me into his room so I could steal it back. I almost got into a fist fight because of that, and it was my loving game.

Trading games is actually why I got a Genesis/Mega Drive instead of a Super Nintendo; my friend Dan had a Genesis and my dad thought it only made sense to own the same thing, so we could trade whenever we wanted to. Well, thanks for listening, GBS.

I traded Digimon World for the PS1 to my best friend and when he gave it back it has a big scratch on it and it wouldn't work. He swore up and down he didn't ruin it, but I know he was full of poo poo and never traded games with him again.

Most of my childhood game trades went like this: Me - "Hey, I'll trade you Alien3 for your copy of A Link To The Past" Friend - "Uhhh.... sure. Okay, sounds cool." *games are exchanged* *three seconds pass* Friend - "Uhhhh, I want to trade back." Me - "A-heh. No." Got the same reaction years earlier when I traded my G.I. Joe Bridgelayer tank for the Cobra WOLF.

I will always remember how hard I laughed seeing this video after hearing all the bullshit about the xbone no game sharing BECAUSE IT'S BETTER FOR GAMERS. And the 24 hour internet check-in or the entire system was disabled.

Melchior posted:How many people in this thread were old enough to own a NES when it was 'current gen' Got mine right before the Genesis got big. It's weird for me to hear about the Genesis being a one-upping of the NES, since, to me, it was only ever paired against the SNES.
