This is why I use my SA name, most people wouldn't assume a girl would name herself "King" anything. And yet my character is the most fashion-conscious girly-girl you ever saw.

I don't know, I don't spend too much time playing with pubs anymore so maybe my experience is different but even when I see other female characters they don't seem to get any different treatment. I figured most people playing GTAO assume that any female character you see is actually a dude. Whole servers would melt down if a woman so much as uttered a word over voice chat.

Yeah one night last week I did several heist setups with pubbies and one was a teenage girl. One of the other pubbies was trying to play suave with her and was all "I'll cover you baby. Get in my car, you relax and enjoy the ride, baby. You need ammo, love?" etc etc.
What was really creepy was that he sounded older than me, and I'm 39.

There is a naïveté in assuming that a female character is in fact female. I know subconsciously, I assume they are, until proven otherwise, but I'm not out trolling for pussy on the internet let alone GTAO...

If it's anything like 360 when my girlfriend plays, then prepare for constant friend requests and messages of "hi" or if they're feeling fancy "hey"

Also I've noticed people are more aggressive to our character when she plays and says stuff over the mic which is hilarious

My stepdaughter has the same problem when she plays; the amount of messages she gets when they hear her on voice chat is astounding. Like above, they're mostly just "hi" and "heys" , though she has also gotten requests to be their girlfriend, too.

Edit: she's on the 360, though I assume it's a cross platform trait of teenage boys.

Never actually understood the logic behind the penalty for destroying player cars. I mean I learned to abuse it... but in a sandbox about random murder and destruction that feels like a weird restriction, especially as there is no penalty for killing the players themself.

If you can get 4 friends, you can set any race to be a rally race. I'd suggest the Criminal Records track up by the prison, as you don't have to really give any directions to the driver to go around in a circle and 1 lap is quick.

Having an interesting problem on the Prison Break finale - When the ground team actually get to Rashkovsky, their HUD disappears, like it's about to go into a cutscene, but they can't actually do anything. Meanwhile, I in a chopper just circle the military base while the jet, which for some reason hasn't taken off, just keeps respawning when I blow it up, before the anti-aircraft inevitably get me for hovering right over the aircraft base. Also, the pilot of the Velum never gets harassed by any of the jets because they never take off.

We've tried it three times now, and every time someone dies or something, we all get stuck on the leaderboard and have to restart our games.

Any ideas?

Ya its dumb. I remember on the 360 you could destroy people cars with a jerry can and exhaust flames and not get charged with destroying a car but that's been patched out for a while now I think.

Conclusion Rockstar hates fun™.

I stopped playing on the 360 a long time ago but when I bought the tank with my laundered LSC monies it was pretty strong. Now on the PC the tank feels like paper mache it doesn't take nearly as much damage as it used to.

I take it Rockstar nerfed it? Wish I could get a refund.

Yeah, it's still a murder machine but it takes a lot less damage to the engine to take it out.

Just get 2-3 guys in tanks and you can dominate the map until someone strafes you in a Hydra.

The ground team is having a bug. There's supposed to be a cutscene for them where they give Rashkovsky a pistol and poo poo, it's like 10 seconds max. What do you mean the Velum hasn't taken off yet? As a Velum pilot it is easiest to just get on the jet fighter's six and follow him. His dogfighting skills do not exist. The chopper can hover just outside of the base and shoot poo poo if you want but it's not crucial. Shooting fighters is pointless, a new one spawns as soon as you blow up the old one. The fighter just crashes as soon as the ground team makes it out though.

I've failed the mission by taking too long to fly to the area in the Velum (at least, we think that's why we failed that time). Maybe you guys are messing up the script somehow, I dunno.

Weird bug last night, I was in a game with a ton of goons and at one point I noticed I had every single weapon made for the game in my scroll wheel, even poo poo I didn't unlock or find: hatchet, musket, crowbar, etc. I got REALLY excited and started hatcheting people for like 20 minutes. I eventually joined a mission with some dudes and when I came back out all the weapons were gone. :smith:

I haven't done the dll modification or use any hacks or trainers, so I thought it was weird that they all just randomly appeared on me, and I hadn't been rolling around with anyone else at that point.

I badly worded that. The Velum never gets intercepted by any military jets, as they just sit at the ground at their respective airfields, whilst the ground team can't see any of their UI and can't do anything other than shoot, but as soon as the first NOOSE wave is dealt with, the second one doesn't spawn. Meanwhile, all the Velum can do is somersault around footloose and fancy-free as it doesn't need to avoid any jets, whilst I in the chopper don't really have to do anything other than just blow up the repeatedly spawning military jets that never take off at the military base.

kaxman posted:

That is most likely the problem, though what are we doing wrong to cause it, everything works fine until I get in the chopper and nothing ever attacks the Velum as the military jets just sit at their runways.

I had the opposite problem after doing a survival, where I lost everything but the pistol and grenade I had in the mission. Took me 3 game restarts to fix that.

Hate stealth missions. You can pretty much solo it though. Just line up shots so they kill two people at once.

The strategy I've been using and telling others about is sniping the two guards at the front, then driving to the back stairs, having someone kill the guard upstairs, driving the insurgent up the stairs, have two guys simultanously kill the two scientists in the alleway and the scientist/guard combo near the keypad afterwards (along with another guard and maybe someone else near the garage). Then just hack the wavy keypad thing and drive away using the van next to the garage. No need to kill the rest of the guards and scientists.
