Campbell posted:What's your strategy? In my deck, I've removed all weathers except 1 melee and 1 siege (I'm using the Foltest ranged weather leader). Prioritize Decoys, and Horns, and limit your unit deck to only the minimum required with only the strongest or most useful included (I'm on the fence about Poor loving Infantry now just because they could be a good throwaway...but it seems like too great an expense when you could have a 6+ power guy instead). There is no such thing as a throwaway in the sense of bringing a deliberately weak card. It's not like you have to spend mana or some other resource in proportion to their strength to summon them; a higher strength unit is just better than a lower-strength one. If the weakest or least important card you have is some 5-6 strength dude, then good for you. It's one card out of your hand either way and he will take more effort from the enemy to counter.

So those Gwent card lists said you're supposed to have 2 Clear Weathers in the started deck. I had only one, but just got a second one as a random merchant win. The neutral cards seem a bit random, I & others have been saying there are more Poor loving Infantry cards than on the card lists for example, some other minor things. It seems the achievement is doable regardless (they say that only needs one copy of each card so random number of duplicates is fine).

Yep I am missing some "starting" cards as well - no idea if I had them when I started or not but some of those lists are definitely wrong. Also tons of lists just seem to copy-paste the prima guide for gwent card vendors, and thus are missing the guy selling cards in lindenvale.

Everything requires going and doing something else, which then leads to someone else that needs help. Therefore I doubt I will get to Kaer Morhen soon, but I'm pretty powerful either way so I shouldnt need the oil that much. If you want to check the alchemy vendors on Skellige you do not have to wait to go there. The only limiting factor is paying the ship captain 1000 crowns to take you, and after that you just fast travel back and forth from the mainland. You can ignore the main quest stuff there until you're ready. I haven't quite finished the game yet but vampires don't seem to be a very common enemy anyway and mostly turn up in side quests.

The quests in this game are so dadgum good, god drat. The game needs a replayable quest line selection menu after you beat it that upon selection will create a parallel universe save that sets your level equal to the quest level you choose, gives you the best gear for that level (you choose the gear school), and the appropriate amount of unspent talent points, and places you right next to the quest's starting location.

Pretty much every first round for me is an attempt to bait a pass or 10pt drop. Poor loving Infantry also excels in blizzards w/ horn/etc, so I dunno. Niche card that's maybe so niche it's not super useful.

There are two versions of PFI - the ones with close bonds are definitely worth having in your deck for just the reasons you put above. Great for baiting card drops, and the bonus stacks on top of blizzards so they're actually worth MORE than regular cards. Edit: VV If you have the cards to round out the 22 unit baseline without using them, then yeah it's probably not worth using them for their very situational benefit. But given the choice between the 1 pt siege engineer and the tight bonds PFI, I'll keep the PFI. OAquinas fucked around with this message at 00:15 on Jun 5, 2015 |

Just stack your deck with the strongest 22 units possible (taking into account things like synergies and weaknesses to scorch, so I don't necessarily mean the highest pointers all the time) and then treat the 4s as a throwaway. Hell, my deck is so stacked at this point that 5s and 6s are throwaways to bait out the opponent. mikeraskol fucked around with this message at 00:15 on Jun 5, 2015 |

Well, that one in question did kill humans. I imagine that if they do gently caress people to death, it's more about exhaustion and possibly rough sex. And as Mad Rad & Witch Hunters show, people always find someone to blame. I got the mages out, attention turned to non-humans. Zoltan couldn't booze up the jail guards then...
