My friend had one and that think just shivered 24/7 no matter what I have a corgi/chi rescue who's about 11 lbs, she'll bark once or twice when chasing squirrels but that's about it for noise. The only time I've seen her shiver was after she'd been out in snow for a few minutes, though the thicker corgi-ish fur may help with that. Remaining ever vigilant of squirrel attack:  Maybe a chi mix could work for you

Tanky has been out meeting all the dogges and people including some distant cousins    That is 13 week old Tanky the Olde English Bulldogge with Mini the 3 year old English Bulldog and her 9 week old son Boss. You can see some of the differences between the two breeds as Tanky is already taller than the fully grown female English Bulldog and if you compare her body to Boss she has more definition to her muscles rather than just being round and far less loose skin. The tail as well is corkscrew and tight to the body on the English Bulldogs while Tanky's (while cropped which I am pissed about but not much I can do about it) is straight out and would be similar to an American Bulldog. Also poor little Boss has cherry eye but is too young for the operation so is on antibiotics for a while. Also she had to show the grass who is in charge. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p7AbX8KpXRw

Most dogs are all about the butt scratch. If my shepherd is around someone he likes he'll slam his butt into their legs and sit on their feet until he gets the scratch.
