Plantera plants best respawn. I've only got 4 on my map and I've used 2 of them already and got my rear end handed to me.

Is there a setting to make this game look at all the materials I have in chests when crafting instead of pulling out all the parts I need into my inventory?

No, but if you have a chest open and you're within range of a crafting station, you can craft using materials from that chest as if they were in your inventory.

Too bad it's completely useless once you get all the materials to make it, unless you're stopping corruption/crimson.

I wouldn't say it's completely useless. If you want a lot of building materials for a huge rear end base you can use the thing to gather them. I imagine the thing would be really good for getting lots of chlorophyte. You could also likely use it to rapidly deconstruct a base you want to move.

Should I move my nurse to my arena to help with boss fights? Is she going to get killed pretty often?

As long as you aren't fighting bosses literally on top of the nurse, she'll manage through most of them fairly well. When she gets hurt she'll toss syringes on herself fairly quickly and each one recovers 20 health. For destroyer, just build her a house in the sky above where you'll fight it, out of range from any material it can burrow through to get high enough to hit her frequently.

Speaking of which, Crawlipedes (those Solar giant worm things) can go gently caress off and die. 200 odd damage per hit, and they move faster than my UFO - just enough so that I can't quite spin up the Last Prism in time to kill them before they hit me.

You're forgetting the most important part (as far as I'm concerned, anyway)

For some inane reason, they only can be hurt at one part.

This part is not their head.

It is their tail.

Honestly, the rest of the Solar Pillar is kinda pathetic compared to "imma run through you at stupid fast speeds doing stupid fast damage with stupid multiple body parts that you can't hit".

Each Pillar seems to have a bunch of eh enemies, and one colossal "gently caress you" enemy.

Except Nebula Pillar. gently caress Nebula Pillar, everything there's a dick.

Honestly I've had the least trouble with the Nebula Pillar. Maybe because I'm running Spectre Armor+Hood with Nebula/Stardust items, so everything loving dies within seconds. Even before I had the Pillar items, running Magnet Sphere, Rainbow Gun, and Death Sickle managed to do the job just fine.

The shotgun is really underwhelming on expert mode, maybe I just need better ammo but that seems unlikely to make a big difference.

You need to get a special fishing rod from the hardmode angler. It's weaker than the gold rod, but it lets you fish in lava

They do, but they grow randomly wherever just like normal plants (and Life Fruits, for that matter). If you made a nice, big arena by your last bulb... well, I hope you had fun mining out thousands of mud :downs:

Two times now I've gotten the warning that the Travelling merchant arrives, and then less than a minute later he mysteriously dies. This happened while I was away exploring, and there aren't any hazards at my pre hardmode base. Are my NPCs getting murderous?

I'm gonna have to mirror back next time he arrives and see what happens.

If you have a hellevator thats open or covered with platforms on top you'll sometimes see NPCs jump down the pit and either die, fall into lava or get stuck on a ledge down there until they get mauled by a monster.

My Travelling Merchant likes to hang out on the ground beneath my flying base. That's gonna be a problem for him when I put traps down there.

A little late, but here's what I got so far.

My Freshly remade jungle biome:

Deep fishing spot and angler shack:

and the whole unfinished she-bang:

The top is in space, the bottom is right above the highest point hell enemies can spawn from.

The empty spots on the left will be mushroom, ice and desert biomes, and the right will be lots of stuff I haven't figured out yet but will have separate sections for banners, weapon racks, trophies, statues, npc housings, etc, etc.

Crystal bullets are a good idea for beginning hardmode.
Holy arrows might be even better, they can easily devastate the destroyer at the very least.
