There were some good TOS fan films by a group with Grant Imahara as Sulu and James Doohan's son as Scotty.
I think it was called "The Continuing Voyages."
The first full length episode they did was fantastic. It really captured the look and feel of TOS, right down to the lighting.

best Trek game ever would probably have to be Star Trek 25th Anniversary and its sequel Judgment Rites. They were old-timey point-and-click adventure games that really nailed the humor of TOS.

TNG had an adventure game too called A Final Unity which was a huge pain in the rear end to get running when it came out

Booted up 25th Anniversary and it's good, but holy poo poo did the cast phone it in. Actually, come to think of it, the acting is so awful across the board I wonder if it's not the director's fault.

i think part of it is some of the dialogue works a lot better when you're reading it than when someone is trying to act it. the game was originally release on floppy disk without voice acting, then they did a special ~multimedia CD-ROM~ edition with the cast

honestly i think i prefer the non-CD version that didn't have the voice acting

idk how old your kids are but fwiw when I was like... idk 12-15 I went on a few cruises and they were cool.

would have been cooler if I wasn't an only child and I had a friend with me or something but my parents let me wander around the ship when it was just going from port to port and we'd just meet up for dinner and there was an arcade that gave you like 20 credits per quarter and free pizza all day long and I remember it being fun.

It's kinda cool but it seems like every ship is being treated like it was a fighter which means they do weird long winded maneuvers because they're trying to fly away and go into a dive. Just like bombers did in the vanilla game.

Umm yeah the only reason people go on cruises is because they are one of the few things that makes women reliably want some gently caress without the usual psychological rodeo

I assume this is because you are surrounded by the trappings of wealth and being waited on hand and foot, IDK
