I hope it is later on, as I want a couple weeks to mess around with Wave 7 and the TIE Advanced title before having to add in Wave 7.5 (or whatever they are calling it).

So it only leaked 16 days early?

Not a huge deal. And it means people will buy yet another starter set. And hopefully there'll be some new Ep 7 ships coming down the pipe, even if just blisters of the new models with more pilots and upgrade cards.

There are three SKUs that haven't been identified yet, right? I wonder if they're releasing the new TIE and X-Wing separately along with the starter.

It would be logical, plus one hero or villain ship. Or a Millenium Falcon with new crew members.

I'm kinda surprised this wasn't leaked long ago. There had to have been order forms for flgs stores a while ago I wouldn't image they just say "top secret we're not even going to tell you what's in this". Even just leaking the MSRP would have told us something and I'm kinda shocked none of the we eBay our tournament kits type places snitched em out

Maybe Kylo Ren's shuttle, don't think we've seen any ships besides for X-Wings and the Falcon for Resistance.

The core gets one of the SKU numbers, remember. I'm assuming the new core is SWX36, the T-70 blister is SWX37, and the TIE/FO blister is SWX38. There's no room for another Episode VII ship before wave 8.

I currently play the Imperials, but with the devistator and the Lamba I am having a little bit of an issue storing and transporting all my ships. Anyone come up with a reasonable solution that doesn't have me purchasing the foam cases?

I bought a foam insert thingy from my FLGS for about 7$, and one of those compartmentalized plastic bit cases from a hardware store for like 5$. Fits all my poo poo nicely, and my fragile ships (X-Wangs, mostly) are nice and cozy.

However, I've since bought a Decimator, which doesn't fit. But it's okay, because I hate playing it.

Please let fantasy flight write a non-awful star wars skirmish wargame with balanced rules and then start bringing in all sorts of cool poo poo. The mini quality just needs to be better than rebel assault and more varied.

So maybe this was answered before, but because tournament prize alt. art cards aren't part of products it aren't tournament legal? That seems kind of lame, since it's exactly the same as the product one, and would be nice to have more options opeed up in tems of upgrade cards (e.g. being able to equip two recon specialists in a squad). '

I guess their counting on people also playing lots of casual play, but it feels weird basically making them equivalent to a proxy.

I have never met or heard of a TO that has ever taken issue with using official alt art cards in a tournament.

EDIT: You can field more than one Rec Spec anyway. It's neither limited nor unique.

Okay, it's just looking at he way the tournament rules are literally phrased it could be interpreted that way by a TO (it says only released products are legal).

I know, but I mean, otherwise I only have one copy of Recon Specialist, two with the alt. art one.

"Only released products are legal" means exactly what it says, which is that you can't use cards from ships that haven't been released yet. That's especially relevant for the next week or two, since Wave 7 isn't officially released but a bunch of people have them from GenCon. It does not mean that alt-art promo cards (which are released by FFG) are not legal.

I played my first full sized game last night, it turned out that asteroids were the main threat to both our forces. I took

Black Sun Soldier (13)

Binayre Pirate (12) x 2

Kath Scarlet (38)

Syndicate Thug (25)
Y-Wing (18), Proton Torpedoes (4), Autoblaster Turret (2), Unhinged Astromech (1), BTL-A4 Y-Wing (0)

against

“Howlrunner” (18)

Academy Pilot (12) x 4

“Echo” (34)
TIE Phantom (30), Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

I split up with Kath and a Binayre Pirate going into an asteroid field to chase the TIE Phantom and the rest of my force trying to blunt the Howlrunner blob. The TIE Phantom outmanoeuvred himself and ran into an asteroid setting up a range 1 rear shot from Kath Scarlet which did not go well for him. My Z-95's and Y-Wing did a bit of damage before Howlrunner overran them shortly before exploding due to a console fire. Leaving me with Kath and a Z-95 against 2 TIE's. We called it at that which was perhaps fortunate as Kath would uncontrollably fly off the table the following turn. We both learnt a lot in that game. I especially learnt just how fast large ships move with their massive bases.

Are you allowed to use those laser line markers in games to check angles and stuff? I know you're not allowed to hold the templates up but it would be good to get a bit of an idea.

You're allowed to use whatever you want in the combat phase to check ranges and angles. Using any kind of tool or helper for anything in the activation phase is strictly verboten.

On the other hand, calling two ships which everyone already saw in the trailer months ago "spoilers" is taking that term to an absurd level. And the whole "a giant corporation planned a surprise for you because they love you, not because they want to get money out of you" theme of his rant just screams mental issues.
