Did all the Kickstarter backers whose reward tier included the game, also get the expansions? I was surprised to see that i had a key for the expansions on the backer portal, good thing i didn't buy it before checking.

I checked just in case and didn't have it (I backed for the minimum amount to get the game during KS).

I'm going to make a new game to play the expansion. I'm thinking Cipher. What would be the most fun approach to build for that one? In my first play with Grieving Mother I kinda just winged it and don't even remember how I built her.
The first level power that lets you confuse an enemy is great to start fights, Mental Binding and Amplified Wave are incredibly good unless the patch changed them. Ectopsychic Echo is also good and fun to use. The Cipher's buffs are all at least OK and may be more fun to you than throwing around disables all the time.

Also, build for melee. The character will do more damage and get to use more powers.

Not sure about stats since I haven't played with the new Perception stat, but Dexterity is always good.

This would have made the people who pledged extra money specifically for the expansion really irate.

You probably bought the add-on and forgot.

They did? I backed and when Obsidian launched their backer's portal site, I purchased the expansion as an add-on.
Oh well, guess Obsidian got an extra 20,- out of me.

I don't think all pledges automatically get the expansion for free. I backed the original Kickstarter campaign at $20, which I believe was the lowest price to get the actual game as a reward, and didn't see any new White March key when I visited the Obsidian backer portal just now.

Same, same.
It worked better in D:OS as a turn based system, but the Real-time aspect of PoE is too frantic and frustrating for me, even with pauses.

PoE with a few autopause settings becomes a turn based rpg. Literally exactly that.

I'm pretty sure this isn't true. There was the option to increase your pledge for a discounted copy of the expansion, which I did, but I never saw any revision to that method (people would have been getting mad as poo poo if they'd bought something which was then given away as a freebie too)

It is possible. For the next patch, I've lowered some of the more eye-watering requirements and BMac has made a code fix that allows a fall-through for class or race-specific damage/kill requirements at 5x the base value. E.g. if you've massacred every wizard in the game and have a weapon that requires 5 wizard kills, you can fulfill the requirement by killing 25 of anything with the weapon.

I never finished the original game, only got to Act 2, then I got bored, even though I actually liked it.

Im exited to try it again, but Im pretty sure wont have the time or will to replay it later.

I'm the opposite, a real rpg slut and poe just hasn't found its way into my pants, however many opportunities I've given it.

Maybe patch 2.0 will seal the deal? Gonna give it a go after I've finished going down on Dragonfall.

So was Cragholdt the "difficult area" that was mentioned before in this thread? Went there, enemy soldiers were nasty enough but the new monsters in the cave are pretty murderous - now wondering if I run into area scaled for level 14 characters or just need to adjust to the new content and AI.
