Holy gently caress. I have never experienced anything like that in my life. Amazing. See them even if you don't like them. It was incredible. I cried.

:3: Yeah, I'm 100% with you on this. What songs did they play? Grasping Air literally changed my life when I saw them

Holy poo poo that is a great setlist. I saw them with Enslaved and their setlist was In Our Blood, Nothing Left to Win, and Marrow. It ruled.

Does anyone have any opinions on decent ear plugs? my Etymotic ER-20s broke last night after 7 years of loyal service.

I was thinking of giving Happy Ears a try, as they look less likely to fail in the same way that my ER-20s did and reviews seem to suggest they are more comfortable.

That makes me well pleased to hear as I am going to the Brisbane Yob show tonight. Hopefully they pull out all the stops for the final show of the tour.

I've been happy with the ER-20s and seven years of use for a £10 set of plugs isn't bad in my view! Still, I'd be interested to hear if you find something else that you prefer.

Hah hooooooly poo poo that's probably the best set I've seen by Yob. That's like 2 hours of music right there. They did the same "open with Prepare, end with Grasping" set but since it was right before ATMA came out there wasn't the Ascend songs.

lol

Also the new Hey Colossus was briefly streaming on their Bandcamp this morning, presumably by mistake. I had a listen before it was set to pre-order and it's good. One track is up on Soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/rocket-recordings/hey-colossus-hop-the-railings

More conventional song structures than In Black and Gold, with less repetition and (despite the album name) crazy noise and static. Just solid heavy grooves.

Dig, I'm down for that. It would be pretty hilarious if we know each other. Wouldn't be surprised if we have mutual friends, at least. I agree, they're good venues that have been having some bangin' shows lately. The Sword is coming to the peel on my birthday, too.

Did anyone post this when it came out at the beginning of the year? Some pretty good sludgy doom, got some Isis stuff going on.

Check out their other stuff. The earlier stuff is fairly different, plus the Svrf EP is really good surf rock with a bit of an edge to it.

To walk a middle course and time will fuse it's worth are both great but imo the downhill started with Static Tensions. Still it's not a bad album and they were great live on the Static Tensions tour though.

This makes me nervous to see them live, ugh. I was watching some of their live stuff on youtube from the past year. Running Red is one of my favorite songs, but Laura just doesn't seem into it when she's singing the heavy part (where is my matchmaker, tell me how to live my life…). I'm hoping it's not bland this time around.
