true. you can at least distinguish the whack from the good based on whether or not their beats sound like straight Rugrats Pampers type poo poo.

I know everyone hates TPAB blah blah blah but Kendrick did a medley on Colbert's show last night:

https://vid.me/wMYj

It's 4 songs compressed into 6 minutes, and it works really well. I wonder if people would like TPAB more if the sonically experimental tracks were shrunk into 45-second bits like they are here.

Pretty much. I feel like I would love the album a lot more if its runtime was cut exactly in half.

I get what he's going for artistically or w/e, but really cutting the poem/skit parts out of the song would pretty much do that. It's nice to listen to once or twice to get the whole picture, but after that it's super-tedious.

Maybe that's it. I'm cool with everything musically on that album, I personally don't mind the poem skits but can see how someone would find them tedious. But I really love just about everything that involves rapping and the funk sound on that album so I can look past the preachy spoken word and poem parts.

I really like Section 80 but everything he's done after that is real hit or miss for me and I feel broken or something for not liking GKMC as much as most people. Kendrick just seems really anxiety-ridden or something and coupled with the kinda moralistic/religious tone he sometimes has just makes a lot of his poo poo really tedious to me. This is definitely my problem though, he's saying exactly what he wants to say and doing really well so good for him.

I haven't listenedt to TPAB because it sounds like it's all the parts of GKMC I don't like made into an entire album

Eh, like it's your free time and decision so sure do what you will but I honestly don't get not at least giving it a shot, maybe you'll like it maybe you won't.

Is it really that hard to listen to 2-3 tracks or so to see if you will hate it?

Sure but he said he liked Section.80, So to keep this analogy going He liked Coconuts, but didn't like the Coconut pie. Would you not at least try a bit of the coconut cake before dismissing it out of hand?

Like I hate almost all of Wayne's recent poo poo. I'll still give his new mixtape's and albums a spin though because hey, maybe he'll get it back. If he doesn't then no harm no foul, just don't listen to it again(Or the rest of it in the case of his last tape)
