Can't recall the specific lyrics for this song: Male lead, high-toned voice. Moderate-high tempo. Has an 80s synthpop style to it, but I think the song came out in the 2000s/2010s. Most distinguishing thing I remember is the (unofficial?) music video on YouTube - a montage of 80s/90s clips with that VHS quality taking everything from shows, movies, commercials - some of the clips I recall include a car commercial featuring a green roadster, a woman superimposed to look like a giant running through a city, and old-school 80s CG lightshow/effects. Like this Boards of Canada video, but with a lot more dancing involved. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yT0gRc2c2wQ

I once heard a version of Herbie Mann's "Memphis Underground" with vocals on top, consisting of two guys talking and singing about the girls walking by and how fine they are. Not a new track, the singers were definitely contemporaneous with the Herbie Mann recording. The only line I remember is "that girl's as soft as doctor's cotton". This has proved so hard for me to find I wonder if it was all a dream. Searching on variations of "herbie mann" "memphis underground" "vocals" "duets" "doctor's cotton" has brought no joy. Does anyone know what I'm talking about? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPp-xqDYjPM

For about the past three weeks I've been looking for a song shmorky uses in some of his stuff in that time I've found three things firstly: that it's by scattered brain, a user on the forums that for the life of me I cannot loving find secondly: that it's called "Ballroom Byte", terms that give me no results in the search and thirdly, that I'm beginning to doubt that the song actually exists. it's playing in the background during the entirety of this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pkl_174S-po (also the 3 pipe screen theme in the Tube Adventure) in the comments someone says they have a cut down version; that someone is me and after nearly a month it's the very best I could find please for the love of all that is holy help me I'm going to go insane

It's KILLING me I can't remember the lyrics to this song I'm trying to look up... these are not the lyrics, but it's close, kind of a soft college rock sort of song, very indie. And they heard about the young ones Listening to their love songs And all the young ones Heard about the old ones too And they heard about the old ones And all of their rock songs And now the old ones Have heard about the young ones too I mean that's not the lyrics, it's completely wrong, but it's SOMETHING like that. My brain is a mess right now and I like need to hear this song again ughhhhh. EDIT: FOLKS. The word I was looking for was FOLKS. Goddamnit, it's Young Folks by Peter Bjorn and John. There was this group that had Japanese drums and hard rock mixed with some electronic aspects and I, for the life of me cannot remember the name of the group. I think the band was Canadian? They had a non typical name. The cover of the album had really pretty art in black and white.

I just remembered a song, but for the life of me I can't find it or it's name. It's about Eve visiting a nightclub/hotel/casino owned by the Devil, where he shows her around. There are a few different rooms we see, one with a guy unable to stop playing russian roulette. One with a guy who dies of old age while playing poker (I think). I think there is some bit about them taking an elevator down and her asking why it's so cold? It's a Spoken Word/Rap kinda song I'd say (but then, I know little about music). I don't think it's more than 20 years old if that helps. Anyone have any ideas? It's driving me up the walls.

I took some classical music class a few years back and I remember hearing this one piece, from an opera I guess: Some dude is at the bottom of a staircase, and then the ghost (of his dad?) comes walking down from the top of it... I don't really recall any melodies or anything, but I just remember liking this really low drum for every step he made down the staircase.

Back in my Napster days I downloaded a track that I thought was by the Libertines/Babyshambles. It was listed as "Someone Else's Song." It had the sound of a very lo-fi Babyshambles type song, but I'm generally terrible at recognizing vocalists so it never even occurred to me that the singer sounded nothing like them and was way more nasal, almost like Ween. I liked it quite a bit, but I never questioned it, and when it suddenly popped back into my head this week I discovered that this song apparently doesn't exist? Or at least the way I remember it. I remember most of the chorus: And in the morning when you're (bawling?) in your makeup I know, I know it's something that will always be (around? a-wrong?) When I sing to you I know that you'll feel better and I *possibly another line but maybe not* I'm singing someone else's song Not much to go on, and since it was a pretty bad recording it was probably just some random garage band that got uploaded as The Libertines to boost their downloads or something. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

This is a long shot, but I have a vague memory of a song that was probably on the radio some time between 98-02. I can't remember the name of the band or any of the words, of course, but I do remember it was one of those weird slow-ish sort of obscure songs from that era and talked about aliens coming to earth. It don't remember it being a good song, but it is driving me insane that I can't remember it. Any help would be great. I know also it was a one-hit-wonder band, and not any of the alien songs by the Pixies or David Bowie or anyone notable.

I'm starting to think this song is a bizarre figment of my imagination. It's been on my computer for at least four years now & I don't recall downloading it. I've asked in this thread and previous incarnations, and noone could identify. I've asked everyone I know & even some music store owners, and nothing. Searching the lyrics on google? Nothing. Shazam? Nothing! My only clues art that it's length is 3:57, and that the file is named "BOA - money.mp3" The problem, however, is that none of the bands & singers with the name of Boa that I can find have a song with that title. If anyone can find where the hell this song came from, I'd be eternally grateful.
