Corbin's strategy of being really tall failed to take into account Crews' strategy of being able to jump really, really high.

Blue Pants (Leva Bates) is not expected to be used going forward. She was never under contract. It ruffled a lot of feathers that she had gotten over in a quirky way and there was heat with her. They had continued to use her because she got over in that cult way, in the sense fans were chanting for her at the road shows and they knew she’d get a big pop in Brooklyn. But once Alexa Bliss beat her, that was pretty much supposed to be the end of her.

I mean Bayley wears long tights but that's the only other option

I recall HHH saying during the NXT panel that there's some stuff he just doesn't get why it's over but the fans clamor for more and so he'll roll with it. Way that snippet is worded, I'm thinking this is precisely the who and what of that equation, and I would guess the heat being from signed wrestlers feeling like they're losing time from someone with no future. It all seems reasonable.

It was bothering me for the past couple of hours what she looked like and I finally figured it out! Her ring gear is awful, all the pictures of what she was wearing before made her look like a badass, not a centuries old hot air balloon.

It came off like the former. Tyler has been kinda lost in the shuffle ever since the influx of big name indie guys (KO, Balor, Joe, etc.) and probably has lots of sympathy from fans who recognize that and feel that he deserves better, being gorgeous and all.

Eh, saying someone has heat backstage isn't really a huge revelation. I bet that could be said for 90% of wrestlers, and it's also the kind of thing that's mostly unproveable, especially since with wrestlers there's believable reasons to guess at them having heat for whatever reason. I figure it's probably just the practical version of your thoughts - there really isn't much point in having Blue Pants in to build heat if they could get another jobbing face who they want to stick around to do it, and if HHH doesn't get her appeal, then it's likely he doesn't know where to take her from there anyway.

Joe came into NXT with a big pop but people seemed to cool off on him pretty quickly. It probably didn't help that he was feuding with Owens but was still like Owens' third priority at the time.

Nia's gear was pretty bad but not as bad as Fulton's necklace tattoo.

Not like she doesn't have heat on the indies. For a host of reasons from her attitude and in ring. A lot people don't like talking about it publicly though as she still has a lot of friends in Wrestling and her fanbase is pretty intense so you will end up alienating yourself.

The crowd last night was particularly egregious with their chanting. It was like a cat with a bladder problem trying to mark its territory. They clearly view themselves as such a part of NXT that they need to support "one of their own" and make sure that Breeze gets cheered over Joe.

I hope Full Sail never gets another Takeover just to spite them for how annoying the crowd has become. The most telling image of the episode was during Alexa's promo. Right behind her on camera, there was a guy who kept trying to WHAT but her rhythm was just different enough that every time he opened his mouth he had to stop. Eventual he just clapped with a really defeated look on his face. Chanting was his priority, not the story unfolding in front of him and he looked salty when that was taken from him.

So... People who don't like Blue Pants don't speak up because people like her? In wrestling! Stunning revelations here.

Given the content of the ESPN:60 special, I always thought HHH was referring to Tyler when saying he doesn't get it for some people's popularity. The footage was from when Demott was still around, but they mentioned Breeze as having been around since FCW and being a "fish or cut bait" guy. They're running with his popularity, but he clearly has a ceiling.

I think she'll be pretty good. Not Horsewomen good of course, but she absolutely looked like she had a fair amount of potential, she was just green as hell. Hopefully she's tightened up that Sparkle Splash and the flipping double knees.

I don't know how imposing she would be in a match as a tiny little heel, though.

Nia Jax didn't really do it for me, as her entrance music didn't match the "Doom and gloom" feel of her vignettes at all. She also smiled a little too much, and it looked like she was trying to look happy inside of Asuka's "YOU ARE GOING TO DIE NOW" smile.

But I miss Kharma so I'm a little biased.

Kharma is absolutely immobile right now, if her match at Bound for Glory is any consideration. She's become The Great Khali of women wrestlers, having people bump around her and her taking ages to set up moves. She tried climbing up the turnbuckle, but she had to move one foot on one rope, then the other foot, then repeat to get on the middle rope. Her back is absolutely destroyed, which can be seen by the way she stands and walks around.

I think people booing Joe last night was simply because they saw that it was going to likely be Finn vs. Joe, and they really hate predictable things at Full Sail, so they wanted to rail against it and try to change the outcome just because they thought they could. They've gotten really full of themselves there, and won't hesitate to make things change on a weekly basis to suit their need to be in control over the company.

That's my personal opinion, though. The chants they spew forth do nothing to dissuade me from it.

I think the first segment with her snatching the belt and then taunting Bailey while she hides behind her two dubstep henchmen was be a good indication of how this feud's gonna go. Just have her rely on cheating and her great facial expressions. It's a dynamic they haven't really used in a while.
