Predictably, like gently caress it didn't. 4 weeks after the tech goons are let go, it's in bits and crashing out all over the show, nothings rolling out storewide properly, etc etc. Someone's is hired in to fix the coding, and they can't make head or tail of it. So it's build/implement an entirely new system or rehire the goons. They begrudgingly approach them, offering the same money they were on before like it's a gift to them, and ask if they'll return. Goons reply with "gently caress no, we aren't coming back as employees. However what you can do hire our new company we formed in the last month as consultants, to fix your problems at 3x the money we were getting before." Which having little choice, they did. So yeah, don't gently caress with IT unless you can handle things.
