Something had thown me for a loop in star shitizen. The ship i have seemed really really slow. Like, super slow. Apparently you have to press V to cycle from to 'SCM" mode to make it go fast. You can make it go even faster by pressing V again and switching to 'cruise' mode. Before, my ship only went 100 mph or whatever, with the cruise mode on, it goes 1000 mph. I got about 4km away from the station and then rammed one of the big ships top-down on the pads going at full speed, and it didn't blow my ship up, or the big ship, but it did bounce the big ship off the pad and made it spiral off into space. So remember press "V" to go much faster.
