Rhino, you did this to me!

So everybody's familiar with those stupid STDH stories about the atheist professor? Specifically about the one where the professor drops the chalk? Well someone decided to take that text and just transcribe it into a 5 loving minute long video.

https://www.facebook.com/tashaeswaby/videos/769495383088113/

It's literally just the text verbatim with some piano music thrown in.

Yeah, I didn't mention that this is also my racist, Conservative uncle who always is posting about how terrible Trudeau is and how refugees have it so good. You know the type. As mentioned above, he figures basically all slang that he doesn't know is from the rap.

The duct tape challenge is to have someone tape you up with duct tape, usually to a chair, like a hostage in a movie and try and escape.

He did it standing up and as he was struggling he fell over and bashed his head in on the side of a table.

I'm not kidding.

Don't forget about the Davis Besse nuclear power plant in Ohio. It was very close to a serious reactor problem in 2002 when it was discovered that the reactor pressure vessel (containing active fuel rods undergoing reaction) had eroded to less than 1/4 inch of stainless outer cladding due to really lovely maintenance. As usual, management had been warned about the problem multiple times and promptly ignored it.
Had that gone wrong, it could have been close to Chernobyl/Fukushima in scale.

How can you ignore something like that when you're managing a loving nuclear power plant. :wtc:

Man, the real money is in holistic memory stuff. The LESS crystals in the water the better. You're wasting your money just leaving those crystals in there.

This is a fun one... Shares From Your Aunt is a fun and obviously satirical Facebook page which I think I found from a previous incarnation of this thread.

Recently whoever runs it has done a crowdfunding event to pay for a billboard in Iowa that contains an obviously-on-purpose spelling mistake in the usual style.

And that loud "Whoosh" you just heard was the Daily Mail totally not getting it or spending even a minute to do some research.

I'm sick and tired of people comparing Ron Paul with Bernie Sanders. The only thing they have in common is that they are genuine in their beliefs and have an ability to reach young people. That is where the comparisons STOP! A strawberry taste totally different than a tomato even though they are both red fruits (yes a tomato is a fruit).

Ron Paul stood for freedom from the Federal Government, Bernie Sanders stands for the Federal Government taking care of you from cradle to grave.

Ron Paul wanted your education controlled by your state and local government, Bernie Sanders wants the Federal Government to control your education system.

Ron Paul warned us about our interventions overseas creating more problems, Bernie Sanders wants to go after the group known as ISIS that we created.

Ron Paul wanted to get rid of the Federal Reserve and move back to sound money that is backed by gold and not the Federal Reserve's fabricated money backed by IOUs, Bernie Sanders thinks that the Big Banks have hijacked the Federal Reserve and he wants to fix it.

I just scratched the surface with War, Money, and Education. I could go on and on but I don't want to bore you, instead I would rather have you research socialism on Google and see what it has done to the countries where it has been implemented. Or better yet, talk to a Cuban or Vietnamese American about it. When you are done, ask them "why they are here"? P.S. avoid the throat punch.

The chief software engineer for the Apollo Program was the woman pictured here. She was a breakthrough programmer who, amongst other things, did develop the software for Apollo. Basically, she has a long resume that would be impressive even if she wasn't a young woman trying to work in the male-dominated field of aerospace in the 1960s.So all that is really cool and informative.

The problem here is it has to throw in that she wrote all the code by hand, which seems pretty improbable to me. Wikipedia says that she was the leader of a team, and it seems likely that they would have more than one programmer working on Apollo 11. It seems silly to me to make up some hyperbole about her accomplishments when they are incredible anyway.

I've worked with printouts on fanfold computer paper like that before, and it really can take up a lot of room. Especially if it's a fairly serious industry and they insist on having enormous comment blocks (including change histories) for every single method. I've had to review six-inch thick printouts which were for fairly moderate programs, so I can easily believe one person could churn out a five-foot stack. At least half of it is likely to be comment blocks.
