This game's performance is chunky as gently caress. Not really bad fps (though in some places), but just nasty hitchy loading and frame tearing. I had a soldier get completely frozen after being bound and freed. Couldn't move, overwatch, end turn, nothing. Had to save and reload to fix it. And I really really miss gamepad support

this game is very good. i am constantly on the edge of my seat, and ruin is always close. my captain ranger was instagibbed while in full cover by a flashbanged leader. rip 'BANDIT', you were aptly named because you always stole the records (and my heart)

Right, sneaking all the way to the Black Site buliding without getting seen, slipping seamlessly through patrols like a ninja. Pile up on a door and open it and get seen by the MEC patrol inside because I had dudes out of cover. Suddenly I'm surrounded on all sides by about 6 pods. I haven't lost anyone but one of my crew is mind controlled. This was a hilariously bad idea.

First mission gave me an eight turn limit to cross the map and fight two squads, barely made it. Also holy hell the frame rate issues, I'm running a GTX 970 on 1920x1080 but sometimes it gets so choppy I can count the frames.

When you've got to reach a self-destructing objective you can slip around a squad or two and save time by dashing like a motherfucker. But, yeah, on the Blacksite mission at least the Ambush really should be used to remove one or two squads and then fight your way forward so you can at least somewhat control what direction people are coming at you from. Also, be careful around Advent cargo rigs. Their semis seem to operate much like the tanks on the previous game's army base map: they'll be on fire and you won't know until they suddenly explode. Lost 3/5 of my crew to the game basically going "explosions fall, everyone dies".

Well, I just spent 2 hours playing pretty pretty princess with my character pool. Is there a way to set people as 'scientist/engineer only' or is that just what only marking 'Can be VIP' does?

Is there any place offering a discount on this? I'm pretty tempted to buy it, but I'm cheap and I hate the idea of spending $60 on a game. Usually GMG or somewhere has some promo discount, but the 20% off voucher they are running doesn't seem to apply to this.
