It's more the fault of the splitter than the grass, so yes, NASCAR will dig it up.

True but getting to the point going into the grass means your doom and doesn't do a good job slowing down cars as say pavement. Hell take some pages from Paul Ricard and have more and more abrasive pavement in areas. lovely that even the smallest amount of a splitter going into the grass will destroy it.
