That one hl2 mod about trench war was pretty fun for the two hours I played it, but I don't really think a ww1 game would be good. I'm not really ready to go back to ww2 either, so hopefully they just do 2145.

I finally decided to run around in the MAA like Chronojam, went 52-1 after a coordinated effort of RPGs and a JDAM. That score coupled with a Trump 2016 emblem that was inexplicably paired with [LGBT] turned chat into a stream of hate I have never seen. I now know why you do what you do Chrono, it sustains me.

WW1 BF would suck even besides the primitive vehicles. Weapons of the day just don't suit themselves to mid-range Battlefield fighting. Mostly just bolt-actions and CQB weapons with some emplaced Lewis guns and maybe a battlefield-pickup Mauser 1918 T-Gewehr that gibs infantry. There's no versatility, no "jack of all trades but master of none" weapons like carbines or assault rifles.

The single player campaign would be pretty interesting and fun, but the multiplayer game would have more in common with Battlefront (the new one) than Battlefield. How would the weapons be customizable? How could there be any more than just a few weapons to choose from? I dunno. It sounds like it could be awfully boring. That being said, the whole trend of having a shitload of weapons to choose from and a shitload of ways to customize them is a relatively new trope in the shooter genre. BF1942 is still the best shooter I've ever played, and it didn't have a ton of weapons to choose from.

The German Empire would probably be stuck with the MG 14, but I don't know if it was ever used as a man-portable machine gun. It was intended to suppress enemies while walking towards their entrenched positions. This didn't work because they were entrenched with actual Light Machine Guns that made "walking fire" on them pretty much impossible, especially considering the Browning Automatic Rifle's magazine was only 20 rounds.

If a server has any of the expansion maps in rotation you will not be able to play on the server, even if the active game is currently on one of the base game maps. Also, the non-DLC servers are full of aimbotting and wallhaking thanks to Origin Game Time, which gives anyone with an anonymous email address a free week to play on the base game. e. there is no con to purchasing the full DLC other than it costs a few extra bucks

More than likely not going to happen but the more i think about a WW1 battlefield the more I like it. Intense dogfights with biplanes, the return of battleships. Imagine a battlefront style walker assault mode where your team is escorting two Mark 1 tanks as they cross no mans land.

The server browser needs an option to filter servers whose ticket rates aren't 1800 (I've seen some go to 2200). I don't want to play for an hour straight, especially once a fight snowballs and one team cannot recover but we still gotta play for another 40 minutes. Then again I guess that is moot when there is maybe 5 populated servers at a time...
