There's still 59 open vacancies, if you recall from the last times we checked into this, that seems to be their steady float of positions to fill.

Frankfurt: 23 job vacancies
Manchester: 25 job vacancies
Austin: 4 job vacancies
Santa Monica: 7 job vacancies

Breakdown:
6 Animators (2 Senior)
17 Artists (4 Character Artists, incl. two senior char artists, one Lead Char Artist and one Character Art Director)
1 Audio guy (1 Senior)
9 Designers (3 Level- and 2 Systems Designer)
20 Engineering (10 senior positions, 11 programmers)
1 Marketing
2 Production (2 senior positions)
2 QA
1 Support

=> Seems they still got that major problem with their character pipeline, I guess having a whole team leave and being forced to work over and over on the same assets, fucks up your reputation.
=> yeah and that engine needs more code monkeys to fix.

You jest, but that's absolutely right. It's exactly how CRobbers said it would happen: they'd release a little bit then build on it. Maybe he thought that it would progress a bit faster than this. Or maybe he doesn't care because Squadron 42 the movie the game is all he cares about.

But it doesn't really matter. What matters is that CIG's incompetence is being streamed out on Twitch and YouTube every day. They can hide their financials, they can turn off the money counter, they can keep SQ42 under wraps until it's released in 2017, they can lie to their own backers on their forums, and they can say, "All's Well!" on their stupid little resume-padding webcasts all they want, but they can't hide the utter mess that is Star Citizen in its "playable" form.

Everyone who can actually think beyond ~DREAMS~ can see the disconnect between what they say and what they've accomplished. We will always be able to see it, right up until this whole boondoggle explodes into the familiar fireworks of failed game developers.

And we will laugh all the way.

This is what the sad truth of the Stimpire feels like.

On one hand, I'm pretty certain Star Citizen is going to be a ghastly abortion. On the other hand, I'm still pretty confident we'll see Squadron 42 Ep 1 before this explodes.

While I'd like to play it, knowing that I'd need to actually sit though Sandi level acting, and knowing she's going to play a major character just kind of makes me not want to play it at all.

It's kind of like trying to get into a story driven game where the protagonist just kind of sucks. Even if it's great, you still don't really want to play it. In this case, it's probably going to be mediocre-poor gameplay and characters that just rub you the wrong way.

Top it off I'm expecting there will be jabs against people and groups of people in the game itself, just because I doubt they're mature enough to make this thing without crappy nods/sasses towards different communities, even their own.

I'm still looking forward to the inevitable dump truck of reality to back over Chris when he finally realizes nobody wants S42, but they want SC like burning madness.

Well the problem there're going to have is that EightAce is not one person. Which is going to be shocking as poo poo once they figure that out.

Second, given the enormity and gravity of the situation, and it being in the PUBLIC INTEREST, even if they do find all their leakers, all they can do is fire them. Even though they have both employees and contractors, firing them for breaching the NDA is trivial. The risk they run in doing so is that they just make those people even more angry and likely to still go spilling the beans because, NDA be damned, they are protected.

Of course, we all know that the thousands they spent the last time they were hunting for a mole here in the US, yielded exactly ZERO results. Just wasted backer money. And the one guy (who know who he is) they tried to strong-arm, went and got an attorney. So far, holding pattern. Still waiting to see how that plays out. And I am literally BEGGING for that person to have his attorney inject me into that action.
if EightAce actually is more than one person then I think they just figured it out

Well first of all, most of the people who are passing info around, are no longer on the project. Even EightAce I have suspected (and I think I mentioned it) probably no longer works there. He may have either been a contractor/employee who left; or he knows someone who is still there. In fact, back when I was asking around and digging about him in order to find out if in fact he was legit and not some Shitizen or RSI/CIG plant running a false flag op on us, it was made clear to me that him being anyone at Foundry42 was extremely unlikely because most of the people (at least the old ones, not the new hires) there are fiercely loyal to Erin. Plus it's not like work is easy to find over there. So I can't think of any reason why anyone still working at F42 would risk losing their job for shits and giggles.

And with the latest EightAce post here, coupled with the other post over on MMORPG and several on other forums where devs hang out, it is clear that - as I previously pointed out last week - people are talking. And the faster it appears that this shitshow is racing to completely disaster, the more frantic those posts will be. Worse of all? This is gaming. There isn't a goddamn thing that RSI/CIG can do about it. At all.

Exactly. Mark Hamill doesn't care, has a good sense of humor, and is on the Star Wars train. Plus he's worked with Chris before and it hasn't hurt him. He's just chill and cool as poo poo. Gillian Anderson has no idea what happened to her, she just has to see a doctor once a month to check up on the red, swollen hand mark Sandi left on her when she touched her shoulder.
