Something to keep in mind: disgruntled employees who can't leave for financial reasons or won't leave because of loyalty (a lot of people stay in jobs they hate because of coworkers) could quite possibly spending their spare time reading this thread, wanting so bad to post and share their stories/set straight who the bad guys are. They can't, of course, but I do think they might find some emotional catharsis in submerging themselves in this glorious thread. So in essence, this thread is therapy for a bunch of depressed, angry and/or overworked game developers, who are probably caught in a weird longing for the ELE, while dreading the pink slip and the loss of their job. On a positive note: from my time in the industry, it's not going to hurt the job prospects of any grunts, that they worked on this project. On the contrary, I have met quite a few managers/producers/owners who preferred developers carrying the scars and wisdom of failed projects. Edit: Forgot the catte:

Derek do you keep like an indexed database of all your posts or something? Is there a keyword system. It's always like 'Heh, let me post this little gem from 3 months ago, that will show them' I can't even remember half of what I post. I guess I'll never be an internet warlord.

Or are the whales accumulating more and more ships so they can later equip their make-believe fleet, rent them out or 'sell them for a profit ingame' ? Quite a few of us don't believe that chart is accurate. But that's the glorious nature of lawsuits. Discovery is a bitch.

I get what you're saying. My point is that, losing 5, then hiring 2, is not the same as staffing up. And they've had dozens of positions opened for months. To the extent that, just the other day, croberts was lamenting that they can't find talented engineers to hire. Hiring low hanging fruit isn't material to the on-going completion of the game. That would be like thinking hiring a maid will somehow many the builders complete the pool.
