I don't know why people here constantly mock Star Citizen's funding through spaceship sales... but willingly throw money at pointless avatars. Often multiple avatars for just one person.

You can't DO anything with an avatar. You can't go mining in it, or bounty hunting, or invading Vanduul systems. You can't land on huge carriers, discover strange new worlds, loot and pillage to sell your ill-gotten gains on the black market, trade with distant colonies, refuel them, unload them, cut a hole in the side of them and board them, fly through majestic canyons in them, or join military strike forces in them. They are just useless bits of art that exist to make their owners feel good.

The avatars.

Of course I'm still referring to the avatars.

Yeah but my avatar didn't need to be refactored and ~~developed~~ artistically refined for 4 years before I got to see it.

Plus, avatars are great for letting everyone know how glad you are of it.

Escapist folks did a podcast after the Roberts response letter where they said there were a lot of bizarre claims they couldn't substantiate and left out of the article. One claim was apparently that Sandi made a remark about a rejected applicant that they looked like they didn't shave downstairs. They also said they had video given to them but context wasn't available for it so they couldn't exactly show it in good faith that what was happening was what was claimed by the person who handed it over (I'm assuming it was recorded in the middle of whatever was happening and didn't state anything in it as to why it was going on).

As per their TOS they have a written statement that they will offer full refunds, no questions asked, if game (in its completed state) is delivered by <release date> + 18 months. The 18 months limit ends in May - I believe May 31st.

But to get a refund you have to login to your account so you can message them, and according to MoMAss logging into your account automatically means you agree with them changing their TOS to one in which they don't have to deliver the game until 2025, and can also harvest your organs for profit.

During my time at Cloud Imperium Games I have been subjected to the following verbal abuse: Been called homophobic slurs, mentally disabled, female genitalia, female dog by management of the company.

All of this was reported to HR with no action taken.

The management have forced employees to enforce illegal hiring practices such as:
"We are not going to hire her, we're not hiring a black girl"
"We won't hire her, she looks like she has a hairy [private parts]"
"Make sure to check their education field on the resume, if it is from too long ago don't interview them, they may be over 40 which makes them a protected class and harder to fire"
All of this was reported to HR and no action was taken.

Management frequently discuss drug use and desire to use drugs in the office and inappropriate discussion of their sex lives in front of employees

Management misappropriate projects development budget. They have:
Taken 1st class trips to Paris, Milan, London, Bora Bora, Rio de Janeiro, Australia, Venice, and several more locations all paid for using backer funds.
Taken money directly out of the company coffers for personal expenses.
Buy fancy clothes, expensive dinners (over $1,000), private chefs, lease three Porsche vehicles, and lease a mansion all using company money.
This was reported to Executive staff multiple times and no action was taken.

Executive management (remaining, the honest ones all left) are powerless to affect change as they live in fear of being fired by the founders. Morale at all studios is extremely low and the culture is often referred to as similar to "A Game of Thrones" with the management often compared to Joffrey Baratheon. You never know who is going to get fired next (head on a pike) for no reason whatsoever.

The company lies. It lies to employees, it lies to its backers, it lies to the media. It lies to everyone. If I haven't scared you off yet and you still want to join the company here is one last reason to sway you. If you get hired you will only have the job for another couple months before the company is out of money. That is why myself and 35+ other people have been told their last day next month in addition to the 25+ people that got fired or quit in September.

Save yourself, you've been warned.

Standard stuff:
No 401k
No profit sharing
Medical plan has a $5,000 deductible before it kicks in
80+ hour weeks are mandatory to avoid falling behind or being fired/singled out of the herd
Most employee positions are made salaried to avoid paying overtime

Advice to Management
Resign. The only hope for this company and the project are for the management to step down and hand over the reigns to a more level headed and competent management team. Virtually every employee despises the management, get the message you are not welcome here.

Toast is just trying to educate us about the magical, one-sided nature of the CIG TOS. You see, on the one hand, because you accepted it, you are forever bound by its adamantite shackles, unable to ever again receive a refund because the TOS says so - and every court on the planet is similarly bound by its iron-clad nature. On the other hand, CIG can act in whatever manner they want, at any time, even if it's completely contrary to their own TOS, without penalty. In fact, they can simply delete the TOS as they see fit, at any time, and just make a new one. And a company that can perform that kind of magic can surely provide their promised BDSSE with minimal effort.

Well it also seems Crytek have decided to go full tard as well . They lauched there new engine over a month ago with a number of new hyped up features. A month later almost every thing is broken still and to top it off the website is broken as well . Ohh and the engine is free but if you want any decent support you have to sign up to the �50 a month sub fee .

Then DX12 , my GUESS is this , Croberts has thrown a load of money at Crytek to help get SQ42 up and running in DX12 , Crytek is throwing all there eggs in the VR basket which for my money, outside of buisness and education use will be dead as 3DTV in about a year .
