speaking of bernie stuff, though, i remember when i was doing stuff in RI that a lot of the organizers there were getting a little frustrated with how much people wanted to focus on stuff like marches and chalking up quads and stuff. basically, they said that most ppl know who bernie is by now and those things really only act as preaching to the choir while what we really have to focus on is getting new people on board. which... yeah. while there still are people who don't know much detail about bernie's stuff, the best way to get to undecided people is canvassing, not parading.

I guess the liberals in the cartoon represent actual liberals. But who's the Empire? Big, angry protests can work in benign democracies. It's like a straw poll with free media attention, with the downside that it also attracts a few assholes (make sure to police your own demonstration and kick out provocateurs). But in a literal fascist dictatorship you're probably better off working covertly, since otherwise you'll just be imprisoned or put to the death ray.

Cool. Turnout was pretty good in Europe. At least 600K showed up in Madrid, for instance. I've friends who were tear gassed and bitten by police dogs. People outside the US had a tough time because it wasn't really clear why the Americans wanted to do this thing -- the pretexts were just so flimsy and obviously manufactured.
