Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

Maybe when Bethesda said the campaign would take 15 hours it's because they had autorun turned off lmao.

A lot of that is because it's sped up.

Do you feel it, Zach?
My coffee warned me about it.

The Nvidia guys just have auto-run on unlike the official trailer which is pretty funny. I would be way more excited for the game if I saw that trailer instead of Bethesda's but I kinda get why they went with it as it has the Doom color palette, monsters, gore and the iconic weapons for the fanservice bandwagon. Still they should have shown a bit of both.

That video doesn't look or feel like classic Doom-style gameplay, looked more like Quake or something, but it looked good unlike Doom 3 and also made me want Doom 4, which is more than anything Bethesda's put out surrounding the game has done so far.

It's not just the movement - even the scripted parts like crushing the nest heart(?) and fatalities happen faster than in Bethesda's footage.

Wouldn't be the first time Nvidia did this, didn't they speed up footage of Arkham Knight pre-release?

Only in the last few levels where they remembered demons can come more that three at a time.

It may not even be that, it might just be a later build. Maybe Bethesda realised that pushing a button for two seconds of canned animations is actually a good way to completely gently caress up the flow of a frenetic shooter series. The Nvidia footage also did fatalities way less often than Bethesda who seemed eager as hell to show off how really boring doing them all the time will be.

Stuff seems sped up in the nVidia footage because there's various systems for upgrading your character - some of the perks speed up movement and different types of animations (climbing, fatalities...), and they just enabled a bunch of those in the debug menu before recording.

I'd be really interested to see what putting a medium budget behind a FPS that uses 3D terrain and fake sprites like the incredible looking Guilty Gear Xrd to give you the pop, personality and readability that sprites have. Then pay lots of attention to the weapon handling and behaviour of the monsters like the original. Everything in Doom had a specialist niche and tempo but modern FPS is about an all round niche instead of anything interesting.

Sakurazuka
Jan 24, 2004

NANI?

That would be insanely hard to pull off, Xrd only works because you're looking at everything from a single angle, at best you could go for a cell shaded look like XIII.

Doing 3 mods, the unofficial patch, High quality map patch, and high resolution patch. With the unofficial patch, is the "extra content" something I should be enabling for a first playthrough, or is it weird stuff that really shouldn't have been restored?

It's almost entirely art that wasn't used or weapons that forgot to be placed in game. You probably won't notice either way :v:

find the shortcut in the folder ("Launch Arcanum...etc") and after the quote add " -no3d -doublebuffer -scrolldist:0 -scrollfps:70

make sure there's a space after the quote and before the first dash or it won't let you

That Doom footage looks awesome, and it makes me think that either previous iterations were slower and they listened to feedback or their marketing department was like "slow it down or nobody will be able to tell what is going on and show more fatalities!" or some combination of both. At any rate, if that is the game that you actually get at release, I am like 500% more interested in it now than I was. If the stuff about the multiplayer being kinda slow and crappy is true and it stays that way for release then that kinda sucks but I generally don't care much for multiplayer anyway.

Thanks for these. Windows is telling me I can't use colons in the shortcut name though so I'm unsure how you add scrolldist:0 and scrollfps:70. Not a problem since the issue it describes as fixing (being unable to pan the mouse past the edge of the screen with high resolution mod) doesn't seem to be happening to me thankfully.

Before we engage we should hang back and study their tactics.
So last night I got hit with a crippling game-hosing bug in AC: Rogue, and I'm not gonna start over since I was 70% complete on the game. Is there any way to pull an earlier savegame from the cloud on either Steam or UPlay from before the bug hit, and then just not take the action that caused the bug (fast-traveling with the Templar outfit on) so I can continue? Or is it just time to uninstall and hide the game in my library?

That's good! I had a lot of stuttering when I tried moving it around and that's the only fix that works for me.
You add those after the target, not the shortcut name. Right click the shortcut and under target that's where you want to add them.

Technical difficulties that someone will fix with a hack very soon, I'm sure.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's some legal nonsense getting in the way.
