Cool, now stop being a baby between sets and do some curls as your rest. You'll loving sweat your tits off. Somfin posted:Is Muscle Milk any good? I've been going with that Balance Muscle Recovery stuff, which is pretty decent and has a really good flavour to it. If my Fitbit is to be believed, a typical hour long session looks like this: 120BPM average, and the lowest points are 100BPM which is twice resting.

My resting is 52. Never checked that feature before. Cool. I don't think I have it on the right part of my wrist when I lift though. It never seems to go over 100

because i am blessed with large legs and calves i usually just work some lower body into my routine between upper body stuff its pretty nice. gently caress doing legs for an entire session.

my calves are pretty wide but they don't pop Ill climb stairs and do step ups and sprints, but so called "functional strength" is overrated, squats just make my quads really big then I can't wear jeans or sit in an airplane seat. it's hard enough fitting in there with my meager lats.

Sorriest squat day. Warmup goes fine, rack my working weight, squat down and can't get out of the hole. Unload and rerack it, try again, still stuck in the hole. Take 10 lbs off, no good. Another 10. Another. And another. Finally managed to do 1 rep at the same weight I did a set of 3 just last week. No change in my program, diet, or weight. The only thing I can point to is that I had a 2 hour nap before gym time and maybe I wasn't alert enough. Had a deload scheduled for next week anyway, but still very discouraging.

The only people who care if you can lift 800 lbs vs 1000 lbs is nobody, or maybe other men at the gym You should have some baseline of strength so your body doesn't negatively affect your life but once you get past that the only reason to go further is because you want to Edit: and to tempt gym rats to eat your squat booty

I bought some scales which supposedly scan your body fat, muscle percentage and bone density. 15.6% body fat and 42% muscle which means I clearly need to lift more. This could descend into some awful numbers watching game.

Buy a measuring tape or fat calipers for a real reading, those fat scales don't work. Mine tells me I'm 27% bf at 197 lbs and 35 inch waist, unless I switch it to athlete mode in which case it tells me I'm 9.6% bf. (I'm actually between 15-17%).
