I don't think there is, or at least no one has reached it yet.

Sometimes it's not the bomb that's retarded.

There are also new missions in PAL MN - signing up for the newsletter and keeping at it. But they no longer seem to give points for website login.

I really hope NA gets those SFIV and Nano Assault discounts this week. I didn't have the money while that bundle was going on, but drat if I haven't been thinking of those two ever since. I wonder why Nintendo will exclude certain sales from different regions like they do at times.

Good to know, it just looked like the "jar" was going to end up full around 1000, so I wondered if they'd capped it to that to force you to spend points instead of accumulating them.

Because the different regions are run separately. Also Sony does it too so it's not like it's just Nintendo.

You guys remember FAST Racing Neo? And how it was supposed to get an update in January? Well, that update is now due this Wednesday. It includes various improvements to the online mode, but also gives a minimap of all the tracks.

I thought that too but don't worry, the jar will stay full but the numbers will still go up.

Now if only they gave out virtual console games for going out of my way to see their self promotions rather than percentages off games that I'd end up losing money on vs Amazoning a purchase at a comparable of more discount.

Well that clears a lot up. :downs: I don't own any other consoles and mostly stick to Steam, so I wasn't trying to single out Nintendo or anything, I had just never really given it much thought. Suddenly things like different colored special editions, etc make a lot more sense now. Thanks!

I guess just so I'm clear, if I buy the physical version of Conquest, I still get the eShop discount for Birthright, right? I know there was a lot of talk about how it works a few months back but I skimmed over it because Europe wasn't getting the games for another 10 years

Got it, thanks!

It's not a discount exactly. Don't go to the eshop to buy your second game. Regardless of if you go digital or physical, your second game and Revelation are purchased from within the game itself. And each are half price.

ChaosArgate
Oct 10, 2012

Why does everyone think I'm going to get in trouble?

It works like this:

Step 1: Buy either Conquest or Birthright, digital or physical does not matter.
Step 2: From the main menu of the game you have chosen, choose explore other fates (or something similar) and buy the opposite route of the one you bought and the Revelation route as DLC for $20 each.

Not counting tax, you should not spend more than $80 total. I.E., you should not be buying both Conquest and Birthright at full price as separate games.

$20? What the gently caress is up with that pricing? When did Nintendo turn into Activision?

No. Each route is one full game. If you buy all routes, you basically get three games for the price of two.

It's $40. It has two full-game-sized DLC expansions that cost $20 each. $80 gets you three games.

Or in the UK, $120 gets you three games, probably.

Each route is like 30 to 40 hours, think of it like Pokemon games instead of DLC packs. It's a lot of game if you spend the full 80.

It took me about two months to finish all of Fates. It not short in the slightest and well worth the money for all three parts.

Y'all are missing the point re:map pack, he's talking about this: Fire Emblem Fates Map Pack 1 - (11 maps, released weekly) - €17.99 / £16.19 (May 20)

It's 80€ for 3 games but you can still pay 18€ for more maps because it's 2016 and we're all garbage DLC consumerist children. I got the special edition for 75€ which is pretty much exactly as much as I was willing to pay for it.

If you don't want the map packs; be it because you got all the enjoyment you wanted out of the base game, or because you don't like the value to money to content ratios; then feel free to not purchase them.

Hey guess what that's exactly what I'm doing but I'm still free to express my opinion re:overpriced DLC, am I not? Nintendo's usually pretty good with this (Mario Kart 8, Super Luigi etc.), but an 18€ map pack with eleven maps for a 40€ game seems a bit absurd.

So just to be clear cos I heard it before but I'm not sure if its right. You buy a cart or download of one game and then you buy the other two parts from the DLC menu in game for the discount right? Or is it just part 3 that is in the dlc menu?

Also holy crap its finally almost out in Europe!

i dont think this is the best example since pokemon versions are basically identical other than some arbitrary version exclusive mons

but yeah birthright and conquest are totally different campaigns with different maps and different characters and even slightly different mechanics. revelation is the joint campaign that uses characters and maps from both but changes up objectives and unit placement on the maps themselves so it's still a different experience
