I miss my old suffocation busy long sleeve I bought from the flea market place that had a mix of confederate flag shirts, big dog quote shirts, bike week shirts, and death metal shirts. Only pace I could buy metal merch from back when I was younger. Owned.

The Ruins of Beverast are sort of similar in style, especially their third album(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mf65aQvRzlY). No chanting, but they actually make good black metal.

Not the ones discussed around here at least. This is from Google Plays "Top Charts" area and the metal section. I guess this is what people are listening to all the time. It's weird cause they have a great selection of music.

Well, I've been listening to the new Flotsam and Jetsam album a lot more, and it definitely turned out to be a grower. I've been coming back to it again and again. It's basically neck-to-neck with the new Monument on my "favourites of 2016 so far" list.

Greatly recommended if more melodic thrash metal tickles your fancy. Also featuring the ever-elusive Audible Bass Guitar.

Eh, same problem: he's a really talented singer who sounds like he's improvising on record. The vocals inoffensively complement the (awesome) riffs, but they can't stand on their own.

I love Crypt Sermon, but they have the same problem as all other modern doom bands: they're completely mirthless. I know that's a weird thing to ask for in doom metal, but Leif Edling has this magic ability to write these plodding, heavy as gently caress riffs with vocal lines that still manage to get stuck in your head for months.

e: and King of the Grey Islands was probably the last Candlemass album with that magic too :(

I used to listen to Jamey Jasta's podcast regularly, even though his guestlist is very much Headbangers Ball 2.0, i.e: very 2000's. Lots of metalcore (and hardcore, but a lot of those interviews with classic bands like Agnostic Front are gold). He definitely has long, in-depth conversations, however a) he tends to act like every interview is an interview with himself, and b) more hilariously, he uses those interviews as excuses to try to arrange a musical or business partnership with whoever he's talking to.

But yeah, the metal podcast situation in general is pretty dire.

COFFEE, PUSHUPS AND METAL

edit: oh there's also Nine Circles but they're massive dweebs and often have poo poo audio (at least for one of the guys). And no guests. They just talk about metal news, albums they like, and shows they've seen.
