I just started playing street fighter V, and I'm using my old 360 controller. I want to try something a little better, and I'm split between the hori commander 4, and the TES+. I'm currently leaning towards the commander 4 because it's a pad, and it has those four extra buttons. However, my friends are really recommending the fight sticks. I tried one today, but couldn't really do much. I really dunno which to buy. Anybody here swear by the commander, or hate it?

The FC4 is a good fightpad and is cheap, so you don't have to spend a lot of money on fighting game peripherals. The TES+ is a good stick (and it's gorgeous), but it's a lot more expensive. Neither of them will make you better than the other (though pretty much anything is better than a 360 pad). Sticks do take some learning, but it's not like you need to relearn everything completely, and they also let you do stuff like plinking or 360s that are harder (but in no way impossible) to do on a pad. Pads have the advantage of being easier to transport, but sticks have the advantage of being way cooler because it's an arcade stick,  .If money isn't an issue, play around with a stick a bit more and see if you like it enough to buy one, but if you'd prefer not to drop $200 on a controller you won't use for anything but fighting games and maybe shmups and want to stick with a pad because that's what you're comfortable with, that's fine and you should get the FC4.

I play on a FC3 Pro and it's a pretty sweet pad. I can't say one is better than the other, pads are smaller and more "natural" if you didn't grow up in arcades while sticks are more resilient, easier to mod/fix and, well, cooler. also mail me your unused FC4 mine is three years old and god knows when it's gonna give up the ghost

I don't feel very strongly about the KOF99 soundtrack, except for Ryu-Ko. That was pretty drat good. I think I like the OST version better, mostly because the percussion is crisper.

doa5 is fun it's not excellent but it's fun and the netcode isnt't the worst. the characters are fun too, especially the Virtua Fighters theres a f2p version if you just wanna try it out with rotating free characters
