I had a cat named Teddy back as a kid and he was fascinated with ears. He would start like the above furball but would eventually jam his entire tongue as deep into your ear canal as possible. It was dangerous napping on the couch back then.

Now I miss Teddy. He was a stray that adopted my family so we could have the opportunity to feed him for 4 years, and one day he never came home. I like to think he had passed his ear licking joy onto some other family.

After following a few links from an earlier video, I came across this, of a curly-haired cameraman getting some very amusing attention from a serval.

Lipstick Apathy
I would like to request pictures of cats and their humans.

After four days, we are beginning to accept that one of our cats may not be coming home :smith: She's an outdoor cat but never goes very far and you could set your watch by her turning up to sit at her food bowl. The only times meals have been missed is when she or her sibling were ill or injured, in which case they would sit next to each other and refuse to move until one of their humans came to the rescue :3: The fact that her sibling is more or less sticking to the normal routine, but keeps returning to one place in the garden where neither of them ever sat, makes us suspect something heartbreaking has happened.

Cuddle your cat for me, and post pics. :glomp:

it seemed like a good idea at the time
So I learned today that I have a debilitating GI illness that will significantly affect what I'm able to eat, often to the point of "liquids only," under threat of extreme nausea if I gently caress up. Doctors can't really do anything about it but shrug, treat the nausea, and hope it goes away, which can take as long as 2 years. (Drugs to treat it exist, but they have incredibly rough side effects, so they only prescribe them for people who have no other choice.) I'm gonna have to see a nutritionist to make a plan of what I'll be able to eat without getting malnourished.

I've been...mostly holding it together, but it's getting hard. :smith: Can I have some dogs being extremely happy?

Residents at a nursing home in NZ recreate a Taylor Swift video:

BBC posted:

Whilst the rest of the world is obsessing over the Taylor Swift vs Kimye row, a bunch of residents of a New Zealand retirement home have done an (almost) shot for shot remake of the singer's Shake it Off video.

The 50 residents of the retirement village in Palmerston North apparently spent a week learning the words and moves.

The average age of the dancers is 82, with a combined age of 4,000.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDurYyFFt_M

It makes me happy as this reminds me so much of my mum -- she's 87 now, but up until she got really fragile she was still very active and a great dancer; she used to do dance competitions and stuff back when she was growing up in the 1940s, and made all of my siblings and me jitterbug with her when we were growing up. She did all of the mad style jitterbugging as well; you just held on and hoped you didn't end up dangling from a lighting fixture or something because you couldn't keep up with her.
