am writing this because I would like to tell the devs of Starcitizen that the state the game is in now and what has been communicated about its intended progression has blown me away. The graphics as they are are absolutely phenomenal and they are only going to get better as the end product is executed to its full potential and eventually optimized.

I always hoped this game would be one that has had enough and more than enough passion and know how infused to make it become a project we can truly respect, admire and indulge ourselves in, without the constant feeling we have been sold promises that where not fully executed in order to make a quick buck off market entry sales, as it is so very common in the video game industry these days.

Once we had Kotor, Diablo 1 and 2, freelancer, the first GTA games like GTA 3 and vice city and many other older games, which immersed us so deeply, that we never once questioned the games story or setting.

These Games where crafted with such detail and creativity that we didnt notice or care for the sometimes obsolete graphics, occasional glitch or bug or even edge of an area or other seemingly game breaking aspects.

This was often the case because the game was tailored with a real passion for storytelling and a drive to portray the game world as one a player may identify with, as a place that could possibly truly exist characteristically and atmospherically.

The often blocky character models didnt matter because the way they spoke to each other showed what they wanted and did gave us a sense that they where real people, whom lived a real life within the given setting.

As we see this game come together we are beginning to witness something I have come to appreciate from games I deem "good", which is a specific hand writing as in a tight look and feel in the way the overall product has been crafted and exhibited.
Yes I am saying that this game is giving off all the right signals in my eyes. Its overall look and feel are really hitting home.

I hope the devs realize what I am trying to say about storytelling and that once the amazing graphics are implemented to their fullest potential, that they begin to implement stories, occurrences, surprises, meta game features and atmospheric luxuries from a truly creative place within their minds and hearts.

If I was a dev, my goal would be that the games story, interactive random occurrence storytelling and environmental characteristics could exist on their own with the shittiest of graphics and still capture peoples passion for the verse.

This game has a fantastic setting. I really really hope its content is spectacular enough for us to never feel the need to consider the graphics, when making arguments for the games quality.

You guys have the gaming world at the edge of their seats and may be the first to fill out the shoes of gaming's legendary predecessors.

Here's to you Cloud Imperium Games, Here's to you Chris Roberts and Co.

If this is accurate, then players only impact on the economy from a resource gathering perspective is their choice of what to gather.
This puts the economy on rails as far as gathering is concerned.

This looks a lot like suffering.
The pilot snapped awake inside the cockpit of her Hornet F7A as angry klaxons went off. Her display began to light up The familiar words "Warning. Contact." from her ship's AI sent a slight chill down UEE Captain Mandi "Shave Ice" Farmer's spine. Her fingers flew across the touchscreen displays as she dialed in her sensor suite and began a scan. Two ships. Fast movers. Not broadcasting on any UEE channels. She cursed silently with baited breath as the sensor suite was forced to do a refactor. Military hardware may be manufactured by the lowest bidder, but the radar systems in the RSI Hornet were some of the best. To force a refactor by beating UEE sensors at this distance meant one thing...

"Vanduul. Two of them. 330 by 20 moving in fast towards the package." she whispered into her comms.

"I've got nothing on my screens." came the reply from her wingman, Flight Officer Dono "Dark Money" Nayme.

"Run a bypass on your standard noise filters and dial it in on the microwave band. They're out there."

'Wait. You're right. I see them! What do we do?" The pitch in his voice had gone up slightly. She could hear the fear in his throat. He had good scores coming out of the academy but he was green, real green. Her hands continued to fly over the touchscreens.

"First off. Don't panic. Looks like they're light fighters. Probably feather-class packing smart-nukes. We've got to stop them before they reach the package. You ready for this Dee-Emm?" She began to buckle herself in for the coming dogfight. After a few moments with no response she micced: "Dee-Emm how copy?" No response. She checked her comms; all green. "Blue 2 this is Blue 1 do you copy?" Her comm display lit up and she winced as a mix of raspy breathing and static forced her to kill the volume. She felt the fear then herself as she heard a voice that was simultaneously coming from her wingman and something...else.

"Thiiiiiiiiiiiiiis onnnnnnnne is...ourrssssssssssssssssss nowwwwwwwwww."

She then poo poo her pants and died of fear. The End.
