Where's the best place to powerlevel in Yellow? I couldn't beat the Elite Four last night and feel bad about it because my son was watching and he was really sad. My team of Parasect(Mega Drain, Spore, Leech Life, Cut), Primeape(Thunderbolt, Seismic Toss, Low Kick, Karate Chop), Nidoking(Ice Beam, Earthquake, Strength, Double Kick), Pidgeot(Fly, Wing Attack, Sand Attack, Quick Attack), Blastoise(Surf, Water Gun, Skull Bash, Withdraw), and Kadabra(my most shameful movelist, Psychic, Recover, Flash, Reflect) probably sucks. Average level 47. Any TMs I should use to bang this out? Should I just say gently caress it and put the three legendary birds in the team? Parasect is the anchor. I know his movelist probably sucks but he solo bodied three gyms with it and I love putting them to sleep and killing them with short effective draining moves. But he's so loving slow and every Elite Four Pokemon seemingly has a nice that can one shot him.

Some of my favorite Pokemon are because of goons. Strawberry Furrett, a surfing Raichu named Big Kahuna, and Goomy after everyone lost their collective poo poo over it when a goon got a leaked copy of XY.

Flash was a necessary evil and I figured once I migrate him to Sun and Moon he'll be in a game where they let you overwrite HMs. Does Reflect really help all that much? All using defensive moves has ever seemingly done for me is give opponents a free hit.

One more question, I've read about the box glitch and how stats are recalculated any time you put in a Pokemon and take one out again. Is this only upwards based on their stat experience, or can it go either way if there's been no change? I'm wondering because i have plenty of Pokemon with a special stat somewhat close to what I want to do the long range trainer ditto glitch, and if I can massage it to move it up or down a couple that would be great.

rby competitive is a mysterious beast where even the frailest pokemon can be bulky as gently caress because of the way evs work and reflect on alakazam gives it noticeable staying power against the strongest physical threats in a normal game it'll probably just let you get off more psychics and that's never a bad thing

reflect is a massive defensive boost, you're supposed to use it when you get a turn against something that wouldn't do sizeable damage to alakazam, since if golem or tauros still do more than half of alakazam's hp after a reflect you're not coming out ahead if you have alakazam against like an exeggutor reflect protects against an ohko from explosion and a hyper beam from a switched-in golem which lets you freely t-wave (which wouldn't affect golem unfortunately) or psychic whatever they try to bring in in general in competitive battles if you can't ohko or 2hko whatever is in and it has access to reliable recovery (and it can keep you from setting up on it or if you can't grind it down with residual damage stalling), you'll want to switch to something else, and reflect is a good tool on alakazam to force your opponent to switch more. There's no way to remove stat xp, so there's no way to make them go down. Theoretically that's possible to move up a couple spots. I always found it easiest to level another mon until I hit it though.

Your team and level is fine, you just need to get the nice TMs going, like Blizzard, Rock Slide and hell, even Hyper Beam on Pidgeot. Here is my most recent tackling of Yellow's Elite Four, so stock up on items and you'll be just fine.

Spend all of your money on casino coins and/or items and then just make runs without using any items until you feel like you're powerful enough to win though you really already should be. The most useless member of that team, if you were to swap anybody, is probably Pidgeot with Moltres or Articuno being good replacements. I think Bruno's fighting types have rock slide so if Pidgeot isn't OHKOing them it's probably not doing much for you overall.

I just lost due to attrition because I didn't want to buy a ton of revives and potions even though I have plenty of cash. Pidgeot was two shotting most of Bruno. I ended up finally losing the attrition battle to Agatha and her final Gengar mainly because she's a cheating bitch with infinite super potions. The Ice lady was my main problem, taking out half my team.
