Has anyone explicitly confirmed the videos we're seeing are running on the original PS4 and not the "Totally not a PS5 with backwards compatibility"? Probably not a thing but I'm feeling paranoid.

It was weird but not that terribly surprising seeing Gran Turismo reduced to a 3 second montage at the Sony press conference. What was once a game that Sony was very excited to talk about, now means absolutely nothing to them.

Which is not out of the ordinary for Gran Turismo but even then, historically Sony would give GT the stage for feature announcements and trailers at E3 regardless of what was shown previously.

Gran Turismo does have amazing lighting, but drat those engine sounds... still... I am thinking of buying a steering wheel and seat set up later this year when it becomes winter time in Chicago, not sure whether to build a PC rig (which I've not done for years and years) or buy a PS4 / PS4 NEO and get GT Sport... My thinking is GT Sport will have lots of cool events and really cool prizes and competitions and things like that but... we'll see.

Geezum crow, I'd rather they had just hopped on the subscription/dlc bandwagon and just start gouging us for every new model they release than to release a game at the rear end end of a console's lifespan and then gently caress-all for years afterwards. I tried so hard to quit you gran turismo. I bought Project CARS on pc but they had no Corvettes. And even when they finally released the C7.R I bought it and still didn't like the game. I miss Thursday night goon racing. I want to give you my money but you simply won't let me. Why won't you let me?
