Anything not covered in this thread can be found here; http://www.gran-turismo.com/us/products/gt6/ Platform: PlayStation 3 Publisher: Sony Developer: Polyphony Digital Release Date: December 6, 2013 Chance of Tears and Disappointment: Very likely Welp, it's another Gran Turismo game, and a new thread made by someone who probably shouldn't even be making it! It's been 3 years since Gran Turismo 5 released to very mixed reactions. GT5 was patched, there was DLC, and supposedly it held onto over 100,000 players playing multiplayer daily. So it had a very large following despite all of its problems. Polyphony Digital listened very closely to the fans and tried their best to implement everything they wanted via patches and DLC. What they couldn't do in GT5 has been carried over into GT6. There will be 1200 cars, 37 unique race tracks, the random track generator has been overhauled and is capable of generating gigantic tracks, more tracks have day/night cycles, there will be monthly DLC with cars and tracks, and apparently you can ride a Lunar buggy on the moon. Whats New? Everything, from the looks of it. Polyphony Digital has completely revamped Gran Turismo 5. All new lightning and shadow effects, a completely new sound effects system that sounds like it will be patched into the game at or a little bit after launch. Whole new physics and simulation model that we got to test out over the summer that was pretty amazing. I'm Setting My PlayStation 3 on Fire and Getting a PlayStation 4 Okay, calm down. There is no promises that Gran Turismo 6 is coming to the PlayStation 4. MAYBE late next year, if everything goes well. Polyphony Digital has said it's something they are considering, but in no certain terms have they said it was a done confirmed deal. PD historically changes their mind very often. Remember GT5 was feature complete and there would be no DLC? Look at how that turned out. I bet anything they are just working on Gran Turismo 7 right now and that will be PlayStation 4 exclusive. What Bad Things Are Carrying Over From GT5? Standard cars. Yeah, it sucks, but what can you do? The premium car list looks to be big enough now that you can just ignore it, hopefully. The cars are ugly as sin, but PD is really dead set on having a 1000+ car count and this is the best way to do that. With DLC, the premium list is only going to continue to grow. There is even free DLC in the way of concept cars, 15 in all. There will no doubt be other free DLC cars too. gently caress PAINT CHIPS You're in luck, because this time you just buy them outright for what appears to be only 5000 credits each. Moon cars, snow, better track builder, 2 Countachs, paint freedom, it's all gold and I don't even have to buy a new system. I'm hype. I don't even care. I hope they let us take any car on the dirt/snow courses this time, at least in free mode. I really wanted to rally in my C3 Stingray E: it looks like you can do a legit 24 hours of Le Mans with the sun rising and setting. AWESOME.

I wonder if anything will carry over from a GT5 save file. I'm sure it's going to just be a bunch of credits for having one, but I'd like to have a few favourites brought over. Also, that moon buggy looks amazing, but there doesn't seem to be an actual moon track in the line up to play around with it. Is the car made in 1886 from Gran Turismo 4 going to be included as well?

All DLC from GT5 is in this too. I really hope the moon track is in the game, if nothing else as DLC or something.

I can't really tell from the website, but it looks maybe now you can buy all 1200 cars at will now like Forza instead of that "most of the cars in the game are in a rotating used car shop" thing from 5? That'd be nice. Still, I just want a new driving sim for PS3 and this appears to be that!

I really want to drive all those new Lambos. Also that Ascari track looks loving amazing for some classic cars race.

I'm not one of those guys that wants "his car" in the game, but I'm a little bit sad that it looks like Saabs will never make it in. Growing up, my dad's 9000s and his later 9-5 were the "best-feeling" cars I've ever driven.

Well Polyphony seems to have listened to just about every other complaint about GT5, so hopefully there's no used car lot. Actually I wouldn't mind a used car dealer where you buy a car with high miles for cheap that maybe has some damage it needs repaired or something, just as long as they also let us buy a new version of the same car.

I Said Come In! I think you jinxed the last GT thread by being OP with your enthusiasm. Maybe your assuming failure GT will rise to glory again. If it sucks I blame you. I almost wish this game had a Versa so other people could digitally experience my horror each day I drive to work. God dammit are we still not getting Seattle for a track again? Cannot Find Server posted:Well Polyphony seems to have listened to just about every other complaint about GT5, so hopefully there's no used car lot. God please please please let this be true. They had so much to learn from on their mistakes with GT5 that this has potential to be so good. I'm afraid I'm going to get hype for a GT game and end up playing Forza. Again. So many new tracks and cars and features It's really nice to see that the track creator has seen even more improvements, and to see that they've even improved the time of day transitions and everything else is really exciting. It's also nice to see that a huge chunk of the tracks also support weather/night racing or both. I'm really interested to see what new tracks are brought to the game via DLC (El Capitan and Midfield please), but as it is they're certainly providing a ridiculous amount of content and features as it is. It's like a giant automotive sandbox meatcookie posted:Still kinda ticked that I missed out on Spa DLC. All the GT5 DLC is part of GT6 now, so Spa etc. will be on the disc.

If they gave us Watkins Glen as a DLC track I'd never play any other racing series ever. Watkins Glen NEEDS to be in a goddamn game, it is so fun to drive. I used to think we'd never see it in Forza or Gran Turismo, but then both of them got Bathurst and Spa and GT6 has Brands Hatch, so anything's possible. If they bring back old GT tracks I'd love Red Rock Valley, but that was so long ago and so far removed from the modern design of their tracks that I doubt it'll happen.

I think your best bet for Watkins Glen is Project CARS, which will be hitting PS3/360/PC and as far as I know they've also secured funding to put the game out on PS4 too? It looks really good from all the footage of the game that I've seen and like GT has some great dynamic weather and time of day effects, and a really great track list.

It's looking like they're actually canceling the current-gen versions and just doing a release on next-gen consoles and PC since it's probably not coming out until late next year. I suppose at least that means the console versions should be very similar to the PC. I'm thinking of buying a friend's PS3 off him when the PS4 comes out for GT6 and some of the Japanese console games that weren't on the 360. I remember GT4 being really fun due to the nice tracks and the eccentric car selection, and as much as I liked Forza 4 and engines that didn't sound like vacuum cleaners Forza 5 doesn't look like enough of an upgrade to make me want to buy a game console at launch.

I was just looking around the GT6 website and noticed a couple of cool things. Firstly, it looks like nitrous has returned () and I also noticed that it appears damage to your car is now persistent between races, until you go to GT Auto and get it repaired (there's quite a lot of options for this as well, which is cool). One mode they should include is a split-screen time trial, where instead of racing for a number of laps, you can keep going round and try to beat each other's best time. Collision would probably have to be turned off, but it's how multiplayer in Trackmania works. E: VVV Same, but with the Nürburgring with weather and day/night, or Eiger Norwand with weather. It's also worth remembering that tracks made with the course maker in GT5 were able to be shared with friends online, and also raced online as well Combine that with the feature having integration with the weather and time of day features of the game, and the game has insane replayability. I'm really interested in seeing what new course maker locations there are in GT6, and also if they're going to enable point to point races as well as traditional closed circuit designs too.

Yeah I saw the chrome line cars from the signature edition of GT5 were in the dealership so I wanted to know if we could buy the stealth model versions of the car. Stealth is pretty much matte black with some tuning done to it. We couldn't buy the car, you had to get it through pre-orders so for instance I got a Mercedes SLS Stealth Model the only way you could do that was pre-ordering through amazon a long time ago. Glad they're opening up the cars we couldn't get.

I wonder what are the chances that they updated some of the uglier tracks? from playing the GT Academy I saw that Autumn Ring was updated and looking at the track list it says it now supports weather changes but none of the other ugly tracks say they support weather changes so it makes me worry about that. They probably didn't change anything there, hopefully in an update.
