That 2 parter is the perfect end to season 1 and still has what was probably my favourite moment in the series. If you don't end with that then what do you end with?

I don't mind if characters in a show are gay, so long as it's not one of those 'Very special episode' kind of outs. Mr Smiley is gay? M'kay, explains why a fun guy like him ain't married. Pearl is gay? She's a space rock, what's the alternative? Haer'dalis is Bi? He's still cool, ring of freedom + Defensive stance all day. That guy from Alpha Flight is gay? That's cool, his sister is super hot and it's not like I - Jesus Christ it's been 5 pages shut the gently caress up and punch out the bad guy already.

All the designs were slightly more complicated, and less streamlined. I kinda dug the 90s-ness of the original CG designs. (Tastes my vary.) At the same time Steven is a lot huskier, too. The temple looks more.. Temple-ish, too. With the colored gems scattered around it. I mean, it's basically what-if-ing at this point. I'd love to see the designs for Jasper, Peri, and Lapis were they to keep the style of the pilot.

Someone will probably say the one time Steven crossdressed counts as trans or that one time Lars, Sadie, Sour Cream, and Kevin all popped a boner over Stevonnie counts as bi. I'd say such isolated incidents don't really count though. So with the current cast as we know them, no, no definitively bi or trans characters that I can think of.
