hi everyone, i played the first 5 missions of rive and it's really fun. you're stuck with the machine gun as your primary weapon (afaik) but you at least get one-use special attacks constantly as drops from enemies (i have so far unlocked shotgun blast and 7-homing-rocket attack)

also the protagonist is a silly doofus with a campy sylvester stallone accent and says things like "i haven't seen squids like that since Parodius"

Nah, it was a new game, I remember that much

Nah, you were specifically on like the bridge of the ship and I think the trailer had you looking at a hologram table showing your fleet and you could look outside to see them doing stuff (this was all a trailer tho so idk if any of that was actual gameplay)

i admit that the new ghost emotion system takes a lot of the precision out of the game since you can just bump stuff whatever, and that the camera on ghost train kills is really disorienting about where you're going to end up, but the game is solid the way its designed around its new goals and saying its bad is sour grapes about not getting the same game again from 5 years ago or whatever.

then he's trashing the really good feeling play control but won't test other controllers to make sure he doesn't have a broken dpad and saying the music is bad and its very funny to watch grandpa get grumpy and fussy

I haven't listened to the podcast but I've never had an issue with the controls, it feels as good as CE/DX did. Only thing I've had problems with is going to wrong way once pac man is going max speed because I messed up but that's just natural. The ghost train stuff can take some getting used to, sure, but the side angle is actually very helpful for seeing where the other trains are going, once you know the layouts and can anticipate your next input. at first I thought they were extraneous but as I'm playing more it's a very deliberate choice because the trains still move while you're eating. The music complaint doesn't make sense since its half the same soundtrack as DX and still has that low rent techno track feel on the new stuff. Tbh I've never really enjoyed the music of CE/DX but it's not like this is a drop in quality.

I think the big thing I like more about 2 than the previous ones is the fact that there are 4 ghosts that you actually have to deal with at all times, and knowing when to bump and when not to bump is huge for determining your path through each board and optimizing score, along with obviously trying to stay alive. I think it's harder than the previous games and more modes would be cool, but I say that and even if they added more stuff I would still just play 5 minute score attack.

Now that I'm looking around a lot of people are saying the control is bad. It's freaking pac man there's no buttons and a d-pad, nothing's changed.

The game feels great, idk how anyone could complain (I'm playing on PS4) I wanna get the platinum trophy

I got my first S rank on one of the easy mode levels yesterday and it was only by a single pellet :eyepop:

I was thinking of getting platinum but I don't really like the adventure mode. Instead I'm gonna try to S rank every level and mode instead. I got my first Expert S rank last night and it was because I got the last ghost train with 0.4 seconds left. It was badass

Yea I think I should start doing that more often to lighten the mood. I just can't keep a smile while listening to a torture session on my sony walkman.

The bionic punch is also one of my favorites. There was a scenario once where I had Quiet on lethal cover (I don't think I'd unlocked her tranq gun yet) and I saw her draw a bead on a guy with great stats so I broke into a sprint and clotheslined him out from under her bullet at the last splitsecond. It was great.

It was a really good game.

I need to unlock her tranq gun fast because it's annoying to cause reflex mode at last second as I grab the dude, only to have quiet snipe him while I'm trying to interrogate him.

What does the maintenance actually involve? Buying and pouring Draino? Or do they have to take apart the pipes and hack away at jizzrock?

I remember reading the direction for Draino or something similar to it, and it said to not in anyway shape or form pour it down pipes, even though that is what everyone uses it for. That's even what it is advertised for.

I usually buy their competitor Max Plumbr or something like that, specifically the anti-hair one (living with women ) and you're supposed to pour it down the drain but then flush it with hot water after some time. Maybe the flushing helps to prevent destroying my decades-old building's pipes.

Well congrats friend, because I sincerely doubt Metal Gear Survive is made with a new engine or different gameplay.
