Yeah, no.

Is this the stage where you had to keep all the horrible mooks alive? I barely managed to do it, thanks to a couple well-timed uses of Solidarity, Confusion and the repair module on the Hagane. But I wouldn't have cried if I didn't manage it.

It's a little annoying cause if you kill all the fodder they decide to turn on the afterburners and charge the boss. You are better off just leaving them some fodder so they tangle with the weaker enemies.

That was a fun mission but a mean surprise.

At least they're smart enough to always defend when attacked, and beefy enough for that to make a difference.

Yup, they defend and don't do anything for the first 3 turns I think and then on turn 4 they beeline for the boss to try and suicide on him, it's awful. The guys on the Touya route are super well-behaved, then the second escort one they're a bit stupider and then on the Super Soulsaber one they seem to have a hard limit on how long they can hold back on blowing themselves up.

The trick is to have Confuse/かく乱 up. That gives the planes a ~30-40% chance of dodging the boss's inevitable counterattack. It took a lot of savescumming, but that's how I got through the stage.

Keeping them healed up to full can help too, though I'm pretty sure on hard he's guaranteed the kill if he crits, even with them at 100% hp.

There's a specific place you can position Super Soulsaber so most of the attacks go towards it but it's still tedious as poo poo.

They might be able to take a hit at full, they did for me at least once, but I wouldn't chance it.

Quick question about Gundam Breaker 3; it came with the DLC code, will it work only on the PSN account that it is activated for or is it a 100KB file that you download and all players on that system (regardless of PSN region) will be able to take advantage of the code?

Also, since I don't see an online pass code, I assume if you play with an NA account, everything is fine and dandy. Is there anything I lose if I don't use an Asian account?

I've so far only dealt with buying DLC for SRWZ3 and Gundam EXVS FB and I bought all of those on my JPN account and they worked fine on my English one (minus the online pass for EXVS FB). Does DLC work similarly for PS4?

I have looked in other places and this seems to be the case but I would like to confirm with someone here.

Any DLC is accessible to the entire system, but you'll need to use the native region to download it, from my experience.

So, having just barely managed to get Coustwell, is it worth it to switch Touya to it for a while? I'd need to upgrade it a bit, mostly in weapons, for it to be equal, but it seems a lot more flexible than Granteed at the moment.

No. It's arguably better than an unupgraded Dracodeus but only JUST barely. It's only worth using if for some reason you want to give Calvina a melee machine.

EthanSteele
Nov 18, 2007

Yeah it's barely better and then when Dracodeus does get it's finisher then you'll put it away forever (3 stages). I mostly didn't bother because the game continues to force deploy Touya and makes him go in the Granteed and I got tired of swapping him all the time.

I hope next game Touya will be in the Coustwell with a finisher until Al-Van rejoins and brings Dracodeus and Shana-Mia with him because poo poo hit the fan.

I put Touya in the Coustwell whenever I could because I used the Coustwell in SRW J and I like it better than the Granteed. Admittedly, Calvina was the one piloting it, but I wasn't going to take her away from the Bellezute.

I can see them not showing up until part way through, or even not until near the end like the Masoukishin in MD, but using a set of characters to introduce new people to the franchise and then immediately throwing them away feels like a weird decision even by MD's standards. It wouldn't be entirely surprising if it did happen though, especially if it's hella W and earlier Alpha 3 stuff.

Calvina will probably be there with Beelzelute in regular form from the beginning. They might even do something like "Touya is visiting and brought a Vorlent"

Her mecha is the Virgo sphere machine so Virgola or Virgora, you can use either. I think the English where it shows up uses Virgola.

Hooo boy, I'm still getting used to having Valor and adapting to enemies with Prevail (or not). The stage where you can get Coustwell was a bit tough since Jua Mu had Prevail, and it took a fair bit of planning to kill him, with a massive chain of aspiration/dishearten, armor down, and surround bonuses, plus valors for three of four participants. The last stage had two bosses and neither had prevail, so I was able to kill them much more easily, with a single HTB cannon doing ~27000 with no tricks used. And now I am rolling in dough, so I can afford many more upgrades.

Calvina continues to kill everything everywhere forever. At this point she's got like ~30-40 extra points in ranged because I have nothing else to spend it on. Sally is working now on Evade for ghetto Aquarion shenanigans, but she was like 14 points behind Calvina to start with so there's a ways to go.

Ryoto, despite never having deployed previously and being stuck in the Raubitter, pulled his weight admirably in the early portion of that map. And thanks to a well timed level he was even able to just barely scrape up the SP for a final Focus to save him before my main force arrived. Good work Ryoto, now get your rear end back on the bench.

I had this experience just now on a forced deploy with Ryoto and Ing. Ryoto suddenly got clutch and learned Soul and procced Afterimage with every attack on his Boxer, in addition to gaining so many levels that he could afford a fourth Focus when he ran out of SP from the previous three. Good job. Now get back on the bench.

I moved Ryoto to the Gespenst Haken for that stage because it had upgrades already and Ashen's Iron Wall could make up for Ryoto's Never Got A Fuckin' Level.

I had been using Ryoto (because he learns Awaken) but he was in an unupgraded Armorlion so... He ended up using the defend/evade command a lot anyway. :v:

By total coincidence, Ing got to the 2nd top ace slot after that stage and never left my top 3 afterwards.

And after staying up way later than I really should have, I now have the Granzon (and company). I would very much like to use Shu, and possibly Amala/Amara, though I probably won't really use Masaki or Lune/Ryuune. I just don't really know what mechs would go well with them. Any success stories from your playthroughs?

If you maxed out Granzon the point where anything would be able enough to damage it for beam absorb to matter has long since passed. He and Calvina are basically the only characters I'm pretty sure could solo the remainder of the rest of the game without much trouble.

Yeah, I realize that Granzon is just ridiculous and I could probably go without partnering it if I drop enough money on it, but then I wouldn't get the chance to let someone ride Shu's lab-coattails to acedom and massive levels/PP. And I just don't want to do much more squad tetris. Please don't make me do more squad tetris.

I partnered Shu with Gilliam just to abuse Gilliam's multiturn shenanigans. The units kinda sorta work well together so that's a bonus. Fun fact: The Mahakala system acts as a super repair kit! What's more fun than MAPWing a bunch of guys twice (god bless continuous action) and cleaning up with an absurd ALL weapon afterwards? Doing it four more times in the same battle.

I tried partnering Amara with Glacies (they're both ranged units with ALL finishers) and setting up a conga line of Josh->Glacies/Amara->Shu, the weapon ranges juust work out that way but honestly neither Amara or Glacies are worth the trouble imo.

Masaki is pretty bad, the Cybuster still lacks an ALL and his MAPW is not what it used to be. Lune is solid though, and the Valsione R's weapon ranges are similar to the Lichkeit's, so I put her on Alfimi Bodyguard Duty.

I partnered Gilliam with Alfimi for semi-infinite Confusion. Not sure who to partner with Shu. Tried him and Yon for a mission, with Yon in the Wildfalken, the seemed to work all right, their all weapons have similar range in fact.

I've also finally started getting enough PP for Meditate on top of Continuous Action for some people, it's beautiful.

The best ones in OGG are probably Cyflash and Psychoblaster. Cybuster is a good choice in general because of how good it is in OGG. Other acceptable runners-up are the R-3 Powered's Telekinesis Missiles and the Ryukooh's zappy thing. I've never found the Huckebein Gunner's weapons to be that great. For like the three stages that you get the Granzon, its MAP weapon is also amazing.
