Once a game is released, the sequel is immediately in development. Then you need to add a few more years since most developers think about a sequel while the original game is being made. So it took six years, and over a thousand people (everyone who ever touched it, worked in legal, catering, or was a voice actor for a foreign language). But Star Citizen, that was done in 3 years. Anything longer doesn't count. Stop spreading FUD.

Witcher 3 - May 19, 2015 So in half the time it took a new studio to make three games, Chris Roberts has come up with Alpha 2.5 with promises for Alpha 4.0 sometime in 2017. We're not even in beta territory by year five. At that point CD Project has put out two games that were very well received.

Lethality says SQ42 is ahead of production schedule relative to the average development period of similar games. Based on what? There's apparently no part of the game that exists in a presentable, non-embarrassing state that CIG could show at Citcon. We saw nothing of the purported 20 hours of cinematics. It's been eleven months since CIG released the "Old Man" teaser with a few low-quality seconds of Hamill's character. For all that CIG has shown, there is no SQ42 game. There's hardly a concept.

poo poo like Godus is why, at the end of 2013, I was laughing at my friends who were talking up how great Star Citizen was going to be, then all the "issues" with the hanger and AC began. It's just bizarre how NMS emboldened Shitizens rather than allowing them to see parallels between NMS and SC.
