It's the cuts back and forth between van and cat that gets me. Also: TWANG.

One of my cats has lately been jumping up on the sofa and sitting next to me like a human (sitting up with a vertical spine), and when he does this, I am always compelled to reach out my hand and pat him on the shoulder, then I leave my hand on him. Recently he started jumping up on the sofa, sitting in position, and immediately reaching out his paw to pat me on the arm and then leaving his paw there. Of the two cats I have, this is the dumb one, so I'm inordinately proud of him for figuring out the routine.

Ms Boods posted:Nope, they're resolved as I've cut them out of my life, and have been a much happier person for it. How to capture pallas cat. 1. Chase it down in the snow. 2. Throw jacket over it.

FutonForensic posted:Real answer, probably raised in captivity and is used to humans. And probably very used to that one specific human. A bunch of people have managed to become friendly with certain specific bears, its definitely possible to form relationships with them. The sad thing about Timothy Treadwell, the guy from Grizzly Man, is that he actually was accepted by a lot of the specific bears that he would hang around on a regular basis. The problem was that he was mentally ill, and he came to believe that he just had a connection with all bears, so he ended up hanging around some that had no interest in being friends with him. A lot of people look at his story and just say "he was a nut who thought he could hang around bears and got eaten", without acknowledging that he did in fact establish a strong bond with several of the bears.

Humbug Scoolbus posted:My niece is a real Shakespearean actor at the age of eleven (Her most recent role was in San Francisco Shakespeare Festival's Shakespeare in the Park production of A Winter's Tale as Mamillius). Like I said she is a legit real Shakespearean actor. I used to perform with American Player's Theater back in the early 80s so her going into something I absolutely adore makes me so happy. Her mom and dad like Shakespeare, but they don't love it like we do so she is always calling on me to run lines with her discuss blocking and the like. Because of that, and as I am basically retired now, I've started auditioning again and if it wasn't for her I wouldn't be doing it. In return, have a picture a friend of an acquaintance of mine put on her Facebook. Lookit them happy noodles.

FutonForensic posted:The Monkey's Paw has granted your wish Pigs are safe from me, I rarely eat them and I've stopped eating beef for the most part as well. I admit though that a lot of it is personal taste, I prefer fish and chicken/turkey. Luckily, I don't think fish are cute in the slightest so I'll never have to go total vegetarian.
