Is there a way to re-read an announcement that gets slapped onto the WiiU tablet? It was showing some upcoming Europe sales and MN discounts, but none of that poo poo is live yet.

Don't forget the Oracles! And technically the original Four Swords, if you want to count that.

THE AWESOME GHOST posted:Can you play this game on the Wii U tablet? I know the Wii mode sometimes has some weirdness where you have to get a wiimote out and I don't own any. The "weirdness" is derived from a single question: "Does this game have Classic Controller support?"

The answer in this case is no, it doesn't. Wii remote only. Which is real dumb on the devs' part tbh, it only uses sideways remote controls so why couldn't they make it support a controller that you actually want to hold in your hands and has all of the required buttons?

Nintendo of Europe apparently (accidentally?) released their eShop "Cyber Deals" early through their Start Screen. They're not yet in effect, but here they are:
There's also discounts you can get through My Nintendo:

I'll maybe buy it if they remake it on switch. Not having off tv play is pretty much a deal breaker.

Kirby Star Stacker is kind of a neat puzzle game for 1 dollar. It's held back by how slow the actual speed of all the falling blocks are though.

You can get 10% off from 7th Dragon/SMTIV: Apocalypse in European MyNintendo at launch for only 50 gold coins. Personally, I'll just get the physical copy.

The typical "you owned this on the Wii, here's a discount" thing doesn't seem to be working with Majora's Mask. Is there something I have to activate for that?

I wonder if the joycons will be able to be used as substitutes for wiimotes once the Switch is out? Like, in terms of Wiimote-only games like the Galaxies. Edit: I guess there's no evidence that they have any sort of motion tracking. ...I wonder if Wiimotes will be able to be used anymore? thexerox123 fucked around with this message at 23:20 on Nov 24, 2016 |

They have a few annoying motion-centric stages, G1 particularly, but as a whole they're real dang good.

Mario Galaxy 2 is my pick for best game of that gen. Maybe Metal Gear Solid 4, but that's an insanely difficult comparison to make.

I haven't played 2 yet, but I tried to play Galaxy the First with Luigi after 100%ing it with Mario and it was like trying to run and jump about with two large sticks of butter on the bottom of poor Luigi's feet. Appalling controls.

That's, uh, kind of the point. "Higher jumps and no traction" is Luigi's thing.

Sudden Javelin posted:That's, uh, kind of the point. "Higher jumps and no traction" is Luigi's thing. I've played other games where that was Luigi's weakness. It was far more egregious in Galaxy 1 than I can ever recall. Granted, Luigi basically broke the game in Mario 64 DS and I used him for every star except for those specific to other characters.
