Oh yeah. All the DLC is free, including the item packs, so go ahead and grab all of it up front. Most of the quests are higher rank that you won't be able to do until later, but the item packs can be redeemed at your butler immediately and they are a big help at reducing the amount of time you spend doing basic poo poo like getting steaks and potions. Also you end up getting like 1,000,000 monies worth of golden eggs from the... October pack, I think?

Heads up for any PAL-region people who backed Shantae on Kickstarter - NOE still hasn't sent the codes to Wayforward and probably won't before xmas, so WF has given a free Steam key to everyone who backed the PAL Wii U version, which you can claim from backerkit.

Preach, my friend!

I love all the ridiculous outfits you can make. I scouted cats to look like the Starfox team (headed by the downloadable Fox McCloud cat), and crafted matching armor for them. Bird helmet for Falco, rabbit for Peppy, and frog for Slippy.

That was the first one I played seriously, and I kind of regret it because I didn't really 100% understand until playing the E series. All the powers were kind of a crutch that I kept using without having the fundamentals down solid.

$6 will buy you a NES, Game Boy or Game Gear game, a Sega 3D Classics game, a Picross game, maybe Boxboy? Most of the really good stuff is closer to $10, I think.

They're a nuisance even if you do know the game, honestly - so many of the challenges are "complete the puzzle with this power/this pokemon type equipped" or whatever, so if you try to play the game without them you end up having to go back and grind old puzzles just to progress.

No, NOA isn't getting the Mario Kart/Fire Emblem DLC discounts.

Shantae's good and runs well on Wii U, even if it doesn't do any of the things you'd like it to do with the gamepad (map, inventory, etc). Enjoy what will probably be the last good third-party Wii U game! Wayforward finally got PAL-region codes from NOE, too, so go check your backerkit if you were a kickstarter backer (and you should have a free Steam code as well).

Reminder: Castlevania Dracula X for SNES is not the same game as Rondo of Blood!

The Gunvolt patch fixes whichever mission they broke with the last patch.
