Yeah, its amazing. My only complaint about it is that its too short.

Also, House of the Dying Sun is also amazing and should by played by anyone who likes star-fighters. It is also too short.

As much as i like them (they're neighbouring slavs, and, by the looks of it, they're investing a huge amount of effort and enthusiasm in it), what they've shown at the con i attended, wasn't quite usable. They had like 6 machines on the floor, and people could sit and play any time. Most people were just staring at the screen blankly, trying to figure out what's going on. Lots of glitches too.

Granted, that was a few months ago, but i'd say they still have a bit of work to do before it's ready for actual gamers (even as an EA title).

What they actually did (if you take their ATVs as truth) is create a tool that allows them to procedurally generate a tiled heightmap. Which they then have artists pretty up. Its not a new way to make levels in any sense.

Its not procedurally generated as you travel through the game like Elite or Minecraft. So it has to be stored on harddrive. The homestead demo alone was like 10 gigs lol.

None of the planets are in the game in any sense of the word. If they were the PU would be 100 gigs easy.

I dunno, Ben Parry seems quite confident everything was hunky dory procedurally generated.
