I HAVE A CAT NOW She is the sweetest. Came right up to me at the shelter, claimed me as her human with vigorous shinbumping and hand-rubbing. Almost didn't let me out to sign the papers. Was 100% chill the entire ride home in her carrier, just begging for pets by reaching out with a teeny paw every time I stopped headscritches. Totally unafraid as she explored my room. Right now, she's done sniffing everything in the world and sleeping on my bed. My childhood cat who still lives at home is so dark that his fur absorbs all light. Plus I can never get him to sit still for a picture. Still, I managed to get one, plus a picture of his beans. Here's Momo, the lump.

The Teddy Bear Toss. The Calgary Hitmen do it every season where the first home-goal scored triggers an avalanche of bears. I think they keep breaking their own record for bears tossed, this year they covered 10 charities.
