Nothing better than an art vs money debate. Both opinions get to be treated as actively harmful to the other sides way of life without any evidence, both groups therefore get to treat the other as subhuman garbage for "hurting," them, and nobody can ever win because the reality is that two have inexorable links and can't exist without the other, as has been the case for all of recorded human history. Hooray!

Like, I kinda get Bubba's point but NJPW World subscriptions are up by quite a lot since WK11 because of the buzz around the match, which probably wouldn't have been as much if Big Dave had just given it 5 stars. And Okada/Omega was the main event in the Tokyo Dome, not some high school gym. I doubt they're hurting for money.

Omega Okada was really good but they fell into the more recent flawed routine of a bunch of huge moves that should have ended the match only to end with a far less devastating looking finisher just because it was the guy's finisher.

I'm sure real artists can make good money commissioning lovely anime furry porn, but it's probably more fulfilling to make art they enjoy making. There's some middle ground, obviously. Daniel Bryan and Kevin Nash are both practitioners of the same art, but their motivations and natural tools differentiate them.

By the same logic there is no such thing as art as there is only the value of money ascribed to a product or a brand. We might as well pump out mediocre filth so long as it makes more money than something with any real emotion or beauty within it. Film, wrestling, painting, music, it's all on the same level as toilet paper. But I think what Bubba meant to say is "Nobody is talking about me and my last run in the WWE stank."

Bubba should know that the true meaning of happiness in life is to shorten your lifespan by 30 years by repeatedly landing on your head in front of a crowd chanting "this is awesome"

When you think about it, TNA was the biggest celebration of wrestling as an art, between not paying artists, charging no money for entry to their premier art studio, and actively deterring people from giving them money for PPVs.

Bubba will also wax rhapsodic at times about how he cares about the business, people who don't shouldn't be there, etc so I think he's playing whatever side is convenient for calling marks marks that day.

Yeah like when Kevin Nash says that stuff I'll see where he's coming from but when you're Bubba Dudley, a guy who worked for ECW and talked about how much he loved the creative freedom, worked for WWE doing stupidly dangerous matches and then worked for TNA in front of handfuls of people I get the feeling he's just being a jealous old dick. Also I may be very wrong on this but I think I remember Bubba being one of the people who called people who wouldn't take unprotected chairshots pussies. May be mixing it up with Raven. Edit: I know he got mad the Motor City Machine Guns wouldn't blade with them. Gonzo McFee fucked around with this message at 23:10 on Jan 17, 2017 |

Nostalgia draw is the only thing keeping Bubba relevant in 2017 and acting like that's not the most significant thing puts him out to pasture. Basically he's self serving, which has always been Bubba. That's why passion and cult acclaim mattered most when that's all Bubba had. Nobody cares when Nash says it because Nash has always said that.
