MLB.com put out their top 100 prospects list yesterday: http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2017?list=prospects

Top 10:
1. Andrew Benintendi, OF, Red Sox
2. Yoan Moncada, 2B, White Sox
3. Gleyber Torres, SS, Yankees
4. Dansby Swanson, SS, Braves
5. Amed Rosario, SS, Mets
6. Alex Reyes, RHP, Cardinals
7. J.P. Crawford, SS, Phillies
8. Victor Robles, OF, Nationals
9. Tyler Glasnow, RHP, Pirates
10. Austin Meadows, OF, Pirates

Notable:
Benintendi over Moncada. Hard to argue with this after Benintendi hit in the majors and Moncada didn't.
They have Reyes as the top pitching prospect. Giolito falls to 3rd behind him and Glasnow.
Braves and Yankees with 7 prospects on this list. Angels, Royals and DBacks have none.
Kevin Maitan 32nd despite not playing a game in the minors yet, and being 16 years old. Scouts were comparing this dude to Miguel Cabrera when he was 14. No pressure, kid.

Benintendi over Moncada I agree with.

I expected Bellinger to be in the top 10.

Reyes I think deserves the spot as the top pitching prospect.

Kind of surprised Swanson is a notch behind Torres.

Overall the top 20 looks pretty solid.

I'm okay with the Cardinals having the top pitching prospect and top catching prospect on the list. Hopefully the winding down of the Wainwright/Yadi era (if Yadi ever slows down, that is) can be complemented by the rise of Reyes/Kelly.

What is Kelly's deal, I know nothing about him. Nothing jumps out at all about his stats in the minors.

He has a good all around game, Gold glove catcher in the minors (they only give one out too ALL of the minor leagues) and solid bat.

These kinds of comments annoy me because there has never been any evidence that Bagwell ever used, or really with Pudge beyond the Canseco claim that he told him how to use. It's also a wee bit hypocritical when Thomas admits that he used greenies which are absolutely performance enhancing. Just like we can't prove Bagwell used, we can't prove either that Thomas DIDN'T use. It's just a dumb road to go down.

1. Benitendi above Moncada makes sense yeah.
2. I legitimately hope Torres goes on to reach his ceiling and be fantastic for the Yankees, because the Cubs won the world series. That said I think ranking him over Swanson is a bit premature.
3. Reyes being the top pitching prospect feels about right, but I'm not sure about Glasnow over Giolito. I get Giolito got dinged for being pretty not good during his call up, but Glasnow got toasted during his brief major league stint as well and I think Giolito ultimately has better stuff.
4. It's not in the top 10 but Jimenez is listed at 14 which I think may be a bit high. I'm excited as hell about the kid but he's still in A ball and only recently broke out, so I'm not sure how much I'm buying into "This guy is the next Giancarlo Stanton" stuff from the report.
