It's an attempt at a 2d Silent Hill. The gameplay is annoying, and the plot is paper thin. Other than that, it's kind of charming.

I feel almost obligated to buy Ogre Battle 64 just because it's such an out of left field release. I agree, but I wish that the option to use power-up cards for MA4 was there too. Easily abusable, I know, but I wish that it was still a possibility. I adore the hammer bros. suit and there are maybe four or so in the whole game. My greatest accomplishment ever in that game was getting to Bowser with hammers, which totally trivialise that fight.

That's one of the reasons I like Newer Super Mario so much; they brought that back. I've given up on ever seeing it in Mario Maker.

I have had more platinum coins expire over the year than I spent on the Picross game. It was a fun game, played through the whole thing. I mean, you get 120 free coins each week that you will never use because all you get are 15-30% discounts on games. I think I played a total of 20 hours -but this is my first picross game so I had a lot to learn for tips/tricks and the massive puzzle (mega-cross?) has a lot of hard to guess pieces.

I highly recommend getting it. I really regret not getting Metroid II: Samus Returns despite playing the far superior remake just because they stopped providing games. I even got a few themes for my 3DS because, well - what's the point?

If you've never played a Picross game before, get Pokemon Picross (I think that's what it's called) to try it out and see if you like it. It's free with microtransactions you can safely skip. Twilight Princess is the same thing, minus the Pokemon elements. Just be careful because if you end up really liking Picross, you may end up outright buying Pokemon Picross for $30. Don't do this; start buying the Picross E games for $5 or $6 or whatever they cost. The latest few (5 and 6, I think) will last you a long time.

The fact that they indefinitely extended Zelda Picross instead of replacing it with anything means you'd probably just be saving those coins to have them expire, so you might as well grab it. It's great! (and also a gateway to a wonderful and terrible addiction)

I think I've convinced myself to get rid of my Wii U in order to make room for a Switch, but I'm a little confused as to whether the two games that came preinstalled on the refurbished system from Nintendo will be available to the eventual buyer. I have to wipe my NNID from the system because I have 3DS software I don't want to lose, so they'll obviously lose out on my VC games and Paper Mario: Color Splash, but what about Nintendo Land and Super Mario 3D World? They were already on the system when I bought it. Does linking a NNID to the system then register those two titles to the account or will they still be able to download them from the eShop with their own NNID?

Ok, thanks. Just trying to get everything ready for a listing and I wasn't sure if the preinstalled games were somehow tied to the hardware rather than a NNID account. I thought about unlinking my NNID, creating a new one, and going to the eShop with the new one to see if they were available afterwards but it'd be a hassle.

NA update (week of February 9):

People wanted Ogre Battle 64, right? (Sorry, NA - None for you)

Plantera is cross-buy between WiiU and 3DS in both regions.

btw I forgot to post last week's NA update, but you got Bomberman '94 and Gradius (both TG-16) on the WiiU VC. Both are $6.99.

Good news, NA only had a wait a week to get Ogre Battle 64. :toot:

"Hi Everybody!"
Ausgoons, if you have a burning curiosity to play Rodea the Sky Soldier it is now all of $19AU at EB Games for either version as part of their clearance sale and can be obtained through their online store.

I can also personally confirm that the WiiU version does indeed still include the superior Wii version bundled in the case :v:.

Dragonball Fusion is a good get, provided you love Dragonball. You will not find an interesting story here. This game is all about forming a party out of all your favorite characters from Dragon Ball Z, GT, and Super, and then fusing them together. It's got some weird decisions baked into it, like Super Saiyajin versions of NPCs are different characters as far as the game is concerned, but the player can get a post-game skill to actually transform (provided the player is a Saiyajin).

I'd be mildly interested in Ogre Battle 64 if I weren't already like chest deep in Fire Emblem Fates. I have no idea if it's actually good, though?

And, uh, you should probably consider buying Monster Hunter Generations on sale if you haven't. Monster Hunter XX, which is the improved G-Rank version of Generations, comes out in Japan in 2 weeks, but given their track record we probably won't see it until October. And, in any case, the saves are supposed to transfer. The only thing that's not clear is if they're still sitting on a top secret Nintendo Switch announcement, but it feels to me like that ship has long since sailed. I don't expect Monster Hunter news for the Switch until E3.

I'm enjoying the Tank Troopers game so far, the controls are gonna take some time to get used to though.
Unfortunately that Dragon Ball Fusions game got censored, Trunks (and anyone using a sword) instead wields a really :effort: looking stick

I'm not one to care much about games being "censored" most of the time but that's pretty dumb.

I dunno, being able to hit someone with a stick so hard it goes through them sounds :black101: as hell.

I'm not much of a dbz fan, and I'm not usually concerned with content being censored in certain regions.

but this brown rod bothers me, they could have at least given it a leaf or something

p.s.
I've been playing more of Tank Troopers, I think it's a really solid game- if it had online multiplayer I would say it's a must buy
