The kitty from upstairs found his way into my apartment earlier. Apparently somebody left the back door to both my apartment and the one above open (again, goddam), and the li'l fella just wandered on in. He must have been down here a while, as he had explored drat near every nook and cranny by the time I spotted him. Chill cat, as always, up until he realized that I was carrying him back upstairs. Sorry, kiddo. I know you've never been in here before, but somebody's gonna be missing you and there's a whole lot of stuff down here that's not healthy for little furballs like you. It was warm in Iowa. Then it was not. Pit Pat has discovered a particular cubby where the heat vent is. We put a blanket for him. Usually he crams in there very uncomfortably but yesterday it was all about the relaxation and the using of paws as a pillow. (bonus: that particular blanket is one of the few things that's *his*, not from us, it came from one of his former homes. He had a rough life - he only showed up on the shelter's radar in August '15, when he was already 2 years old. Then he went with a family but they then had a baby and the baby was allergic, so they tearfully returned him. Then he went with a trucker, since 1) Pit Pat loves cars and 2) Pit Pat hates other people, so being alone in a truck seemed ideal, but he hated the noise so much, so they tearfully returned him. [yes there is a pattern here, he's an amazing pupper] That trucker had bought him all sorts of toys and blankets that came with him when we got him  and then we got him in April '16)
