Hello, thread. This little creeper was creeping around out back. I think he's a babby, northern bobwhite quail? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ecx_o8GmUOk Edit: BIRB UPDATE! Little birb strolled past again with a friend. Birb confirmed as gay. Queen-Of-Hearts has a new favorite as of 23:13 on Feb 26, 2017 |

davidspackage posted:I'd love some wolf buddies, but I would never get used to the mandatory frenching. As a rule, I don't kiss my dogs on the mouth because that's gross. As a rule, my dogs try to sneak their tongue into my mouth at any opportunity. Are you home from work? Petting my head while trying to take your shoes off? TONGUE IN YOUR MOUTH and then run away as I face the fact that I have been violated by a dog.

I haven't been slurped by a dog in a while, thankfully. I hate that tingly feeling you get in your face

My mom used to 'kiss' her dog by letting it lick her teeth. It was really uncomfortable to watch.

Sooo....I just started fostering. It's my first cat, so they gave me a shy but sweet one. She's about 7 and hasn't left the shelter in years, so I've basically upended her entire world and she hates me. I'll post pictures when she comes out of hiding. She stopped growling when I look at her, so..progress?

Also go to the Butterscotch thread in Heavy Petting, Chili and a few other posters who foster animals can give you lots of good advice.

Some cats adjust quickly to new environments and leaving behind everything and everyone they knew, some take a while. Give her time and don't go looking for or poking at her.

Bud K ninja sword posted:https://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3768887 I'm fostering for now; I want to help as many cats find homes as possible. The shelter I work for is trying hard not to become a sanctuary and she's got quite a bit of life left in her, so it'd be a shame for her to be stuck there forever. That said, she did get used to the place, and I'm sure this is a huge upheaval. When I went to bed last night she was hiding under the bed and I didn't hear a peep out of her all night. I'm hoping she'll at least come out while I'm at work to pee and have some water. I'll check out the foster thread, but I misspoke when I said it was my first cat--it's my first foster. I've had cats all my life so I'm aware of how long it can take them to adjust to new surroundings. This one may just take a bit more patience. But my goal is to get her ready for her forever family, and she's super beautiful and sweet, so I think some love and patience can go a long way.
